Changing the league Cycle from 4 Months to 6 Months
" You are part of the problem then, not the solution. If you are playing the game that much then that is on you. Leagues are not going to be balanced around gaming for 6-8 hours a day. Have said this before and will continue to say it so that thick heads like yourself understand. Being that, increasing league length is not the issue. The game is early access. Content should be released when it is ready and not before. If it takes an extra month or two to get the new content ready then they should take the time to do that. All of us can suck it up until then. |

I think the 4-month cycle is fine, and I don't see GGG changing it. Less leagues mean fewer Supporter Packs, which means less revenue. They won't cut their own income.
The real problem is that GGG simply doesn't have enough developers to handle two games simultaneously. Based on interviews, it seems like they are constantly shuffling the same devs between PoE1 and PoE2. That lack of dedicated resources is why the quality has dropped, not the schedule itself I actually support a two-team rotation model, similar to COD. If they had two separate teams alternating development, it would keep ideas fresh for each league and solve the quality issues. Last edited by colorzpe#7017 on Jan 1, 2026, 6:53:19 PM

The quality is half baked because leagues are too long as is. We can't have updates as fast as we like, because players cry when changes take place during the league. People keep forgetting this is early access and already past the originally stated finish time. Do we want a game that is eventually completed, or keep pretending it's fully done and complain about it being half cooked?

" The problem is the new content they are adding with each league is always filled with bugs and is half broken. Why do you want more broken, buggy leagues more often instead of fewer leagues with higher quality? Quality is always better than quantity. " [Removed by Support] regardless of you playing the game 24/7, releasing leagues on a longer timeline would allow them to hopefully polish them better and release with a higher state of quality. I think most people would prefer that every league not be so buggy and filled with issues Last edited by Ramon_GGG#0000 on Jan 10, 2026, 2:12:33 PM

" It is not really the players on the most part forgetting this is early access. When they set a schedule of 4 months and sell supporter packs at each interval while making basically no changes mid league, that is GGG treating it like full release. Not the players. This is 100% on them. Yes the players threw a hissy fit mid league in .1 with all the mass nerfs but that is not what put GGG on the path of treating it like full access from launch. It is a paid EA with paid supporter packs with a set release schedule. That is full access, not EA by any standard. I do agree they should be at absolute bare minimum adding in stuff when its done and forgoing direct league mechanics. Melee is in desperate need for new weapon types so they can actually get more skills than just mace for another year. I know I know... staff is melee. Well kinda. But when 99% of all the skills used fire projectiles, is it really melee? All that aside, they really need to pause POE 1 unfortunately until POE 2 is in 1.0 and stable. They are constantly falling short in both games and it appears to actually be getting worse now. Unless they had 75% of .5 already done and held it back on purpose, I do not have very high hopes .5 will be any good come April. |

" With few leagues, the result would be the same, but with far fewer patches to fix things. The problem is the leagues (probably done because they need to stall in order to also work on poe1) and the player expectations of not having their builds messed with during leagues. I wish they ran the whole EA with no leagues, and just frequent updates. |
|
" It's kinda both. GGG saw they could use the players outrage to slow the pace of updates so they can work on both games. Let's not forget, in order to even play, EA has to be purchased (not free to play yet) at the moment. I am sure that helps on them wanting to extend EA as well. Melee is a sore spot for me. I've been playing with only a mace for over a year now, while I watched other classes have a range of options. This is the main reason I want faster updates (and the bugs that remain and keep getting added), but with them also working on poe1 at the same time, this is taking soooooooooo long. +1
Have said this since Season 2 when they added abyss's I was so damn confused I'm like why tf did they add these when the game isn't even finished? Maybe finish the core game, polish it, work out the kinks, THEN FOCUS ON SEASONS Their direction is absolutely baffling and I have a feeling its Tencent Tencent wants a fixed schedule, they invested into this idea they expect it to be completed(1.0) by a certain date per their agreement HENCE the 3 month seasons, 1 new update every 3 months, we are on 0.4, 6 more updates to go 6*3? Wow 18 months untill we see a finished product!!!!! And even then it won't be finished and many things will need to be reworked and balanced xD Any reasonable company would step back, assess, and fix, kind of like the devs of Last Epoch wow!!! Their initial idea wasn't it, players were upset, now their taking the time to fix it and add new content I don't know what's going on, who in their right mind would make these calls introduce seasonal content WHEN WE DONT HAVE THE GAME..... this is all purely speculations so take it with a grain of salt but know Tencent is one of the largest investors in POE2, they have a say, they wanna see results and $$$ hence why they invested And the silence on this topic, players frustrations, just a new vid each season showing us new content we didn't ask for, we just wanna see the base game finished... So we can enjoy more to come, why introduce all this content when it literally gets reworked every season and will need to be reworked because of certain classes etc etc Last edited by Jobama#9902 on Jan 12, 2026, 10:09:07 PM
