I have the same problem too. Citadels should be way more accessible if they are tied to tablet juicing.

Go at least 35-40 maps in a straight line from the starting point and start hitting nexus or towers and they'll pop up. I'm ssf and i can easily get 5 arbiters a day i've never had this issue since the .3 update where they said they fixed this and i'm swimming in them to the point where it's making it harder to get corruption zones so now i pretty much go to where they aren't because that's where the corruption zones seem to be.

Have you visited Monolith at least once before starting your search of Citadels?
I gone quite a few screens away from starting point without finding one. Then i remembered that i have not found Monolith yet. Found it. Visited it. Started moving on different direction - couple of screens from start and i found cluster of never ending citadels. |

im now 93, did 100 maps, dont see any citadels or beams? even my red zones for nexus sometimes i see them in fog, sometimes nothing 1 map later, whats wrong with the fog? 2 leagues ago, i saw all citadels with beams, why i cant find 1 or see any beams? whats wrong with the endgame?

I'm level 88 now on my first build and the first citadel beam showed up at level 87, about 4 screens away from the starting point up north.
I also think that you have to visit the monolith, otherwwise no citadels will spawn and you can map for eternity without finding one. Also, as others said, always go in one direction, at least approximately. |

Again, there is some kind of invisible trigger to start them spawning (beyond visiting the monolith). Destroying a corruption hub post-quest (after you've already finished that quest line) is what did it for me. They started spawning immediately after that. Again, if you just go in a straight line without triggering their spawning to start, you'll just get screwed, like so many people are saying, and like the people saying "just go in a straight line" seem oblivious to.

" That's just bs. I never did a corruption area post T15 quest and I stumbled upon a citadel out of the blue and now there's tons of citadels around that spot. Note that I still don't see them in the fog, but they get revealed as soon as I get to the next tower.
