File Size

PoE 2 being 125 GB and PoE 1 ballooning up to 55 GB is too much. I remember when PoE 1 was 15 GB. You need to start actually cutting these file sizes down. This is just completely amateurish.

I don't think they use much for texture compression in order to keep performance.
Honestly I doubt most PC players care about the size for performance. Mostly a console issue. Most modern MBs have like six m.2 slots these days. Not an ideal time in the market though. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

bump. I was just going through some of the games I have installed and I noticed poe 2 is indeed 126 GB. I was surprised it takes so much space.

Beyond the OP's valid point, the game also does not clean up its own temp files. So the storage requirement to install it is actually 2x the stated amount, you don't get the second full install worth of hard drive space back until you reboot and the temp folder is cleared.
Amateur? Yes, spot on there. " Performance is worthless and bad, though. | |
" mine is 250GB+, 80GB in the content.ggpk file alone. Last edited by Emraku1#3529 on Feb 3, 2026, 9:17:45 PM

bump again.
POE2's system requirements for disk space are double the stated amount. Fix your installer, or fix the number on the minimal requirements to say 250gb, because that's what it takes to install this game. Last edited by xayd#4454 on Feb 4, 2026, 1:11:48 AM

" " How did you end up with 250GB? How can you have a 80GB content.ggpk when it's supposed to be 125GB? Shader cache folder is like 3GB. You both should consider redownloading the game because something seems installed twice or something. Tech guy Last edited by Warrax#2850 on Feb 4, 2026, 10:28:10 AM
