Deadlock detected

When you see the deadlock detected popup doing this allowed me to keep playing:
- open task manager and find poe2 - right click, analyse wait chain - click on the svchost process it's waiting for and kill the process - don't close the deadlock detected popup - profit Last edited by splinterz#3540 on Dec 13, 2025, 5:19:48 AM

Confirmed.
Loading game, choose character, getting 'Exception: Deadlock detected. ![]() I was in dungeon in the graveyard, had finished a vaal site, was just going back to town to sell. Crashed on going to town. I can hear feedback from the town, but have a box I cannot get rid of unless I hit 'okay', which closed POE. If I click past the Deadlock detected dialogue box, I get 'PathofExileSteam is not responding'. This is on Windows 11, high end computer. Last edited by goninzo#1968 on Dec 13, 2025, 6:54:30 PM

I'm getting the error as well. For me, it didn't start until I had a random update I had to apply on Steam just now. (I've been playing since early afternoon)

Same thing here. Brand new system, Win11, way beyond specs. Everything was running smoothly since last night and then a DC and "deadlock detected." Can't identify the svchost exception either. Tried verifying files on Steam, tried starting new character but same issue trying to enter Clearfell Camp.

So an update, I went into "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Path of Exile 2" and deleted all of the shadercache files. Characters loaded back into Clearfell Camp like normal several times. Hope that helps.
