AMD graphics - they want us to rollback to september?
|
I'm curious if anyone with these problems tried using older drivers. Something tells me that wouldn't change anything.

No company (AMD I am looking at you) should request that people "revert to a previous version" to play a game. The company should be finding the solution on their end with an update.

Im running latest driver on adrenaline, directx12, no upscale, NIS (default), no changes in adrenaline. Just everything on standard.
I also get the message but everything is working fine. (and all graphic settings in the game on default) Last edited by pillikano#2983 on Dec 14, 2025, 10:53:07 AM

They legit broke something since 3.27. I downgraded back to 9.2 and Pirasha the fortress boss legit crashes the game... GGG I don't know what you guys did after 3.27 atlas revert it...
Where is all the supporter pack money going to a new yacht? | |
" I mean, it's obviously intended as a temporary workaround while an investigation is carried out. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

I had to double check that the error message did indeed say the solution was rolling back drivers.
POE2 has had numerous coding issues from the start: load transition screens take forever, certain wide area maps have super lag spikes, certain skills and vfx too. I run an AMD 5800x and 7900XTX. I tried all manner of things. win10-win11. park cores, turn on/off multi-thread, dx12 or vulkan, on/off post process effects, even joining and muting different Global and Trade chat channels, etc. My friends usually play on PS5 and there's less bugs but still there. I know it's EA, but come on. I'm totally happy to have one less cycle of big content patch if GGG WOULD JUST FIX THESE game breaking bugs. |

The issue isn't just a game issue, it's also a driver issue. The recent driver update from AMD introduced new features like FSR "Redstone" and support for new Radeon AI PRO GPUs which is in conflict with PoE2's loading process.
Checking the AMD release notes, they don't mention PoE2-specific issues so it apparently wasn't caught in early testing. The fact you see the error message with the warning against the new driver version shows that GGG identified the incompatibility but has yet to put out a patch for the new drivers. The new AMD drivers were released very close to PoE2's 0.4 update. The issue isn't a hard crash or rendering issue either so it's more subtle. So I say give them some time to figure this out ^^ The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
