It's just bad coding. GGG would like to blame graphics drivers, but PoE and PoE2 are the only games that I know that have these issues. This is incompetence - nothing more, nothing less. Don't expect for it to get fixed anytime soon, either, because I don't think they have anyone at GGG who is qualified to write the game engine from the ground up. (If there was such a person, PoE1 would not be in the same sorry state.)
If GGG were smart, they would outsource the game engine coding to other developers who know how to properly optomize a game. Yeah, this is a negative comment, but holy crap, ever since the PoE2 engine was ported over to PoE1 many moons ago, there has been nothing but problems. When are they going to listen? No wonder Chris and Bex, and everyone who mattered, left. |

26.1.1 - Infinite loading bug (and hang on direct Vulkan > DX12 switch) still happens.
I will also repeat, that PoE1 currently does not suffer from same exact issue. [UPD: Actually it seems like when you boot into game, PoE1 tries to compile all the shaders or just recompiles them infinitely.
