I'm just confused.

Yes. You are confused. I'm not talking about a 1-league experience. I'm talking about your ENTIRE PoE experience. The reason you play this game. The reason you find ANYTHING in this game fun.

It's because, prior to your current desire to just be powerful, you weren't.

You spend a SINGLE FREAKING WEEK every 4 months playing this game. You are BORED. You AREN'T having fun with the game. You just don't have the self awareness to realize this. You claim you LIKE playing this way.....yet you DON'T EVEN PLAY THIS WAY LOL. You quit.

Back BEFORE you had this ridiculous notion that you "like" playing only the power fantasy of 1 button kill everything immortality......I can guarantee you played AND enjoyed the game far longer than a single week per league.

I'm going to copy/paste this because it shows exactly who you are:

Not only that....but you pay OTHER people to beat your bosses for you and other things. So even the power fantasy thing isn't making you play the game. Everything you say is at best a contradiction of something else you've said, or at worst just a straight up lie for whatever payoff it brings.
Starting anew....with PoE 2

I’ve made similar topics in the past, but the situation keeps drifting further in the wrong direction. It has become absurdly easy to level up, to the point where the current XP penalty barely matters. And please, turn 5-way and sanctum into a boss-arena style with no experience gain or loss—it completely undermines the natural progression of the game.

Right now, glass-cannon builds dominate simply because the XP system rewards speed far more than it punishes dying. You can blast through a maps, die, and still come out ahead because gaining 10% XP is dramatically faster than losing it. There’s almost no real incentive to invest in meaningful defenses.

I think the game should introduce more mechanics that actively test a player’s defenses, like the pulse damage in Hive Fortress. Encounters that force players to respect mitigation, recovery, and positioning help reward balanced builds instead of pure DPS stacking. Path of Exile has so many defensive layers and interesting interactions, yet many of them feel irrelevant because the penalty structure doesn’t support using them.

Increasing the death penalty would push players toward more thoughtful, resilient builds instead of hyper-fragile speed setups. Ultimately, it would make character progression feel more meaningful and restore some weight to the endgame, where decisions should matter.

+1

Couldn't agree more. Sadly it won't happen, the RMT noobs need to be able to spend real money to buy divines so that they can boost their characters...
Affliction and Necropolis worst leagues ever. The current game design has slowly turned this game into a loot-shower fest, chase uniques are way too available; and obtaining chase items through stacked decks and valdo's boxes simply isn't fun.
Hopefully GGG can make level 100 an accomplishment again, and playing glass cannon will get downside of bigger xp loss to promote defenses.
Biggest compliments for my crafted items - "bs, they must have been RMT'ed"

I'm disabled, I have rare case of semperduravera, so I can write things that may look rude, but it is because of disability - I'm forced to tell truth using words you may not like.
As much as I would love level 100 to matter, and boosting to be killed, it will never happen.
The game keeps being watered down every single league, for the past 5-6 years, to the point where it has become a loot shower fest trying to cater to a bigger audience. The days of "hardcore" Path of Exile, where things are difficult and require time and effort are long gone.

People RMT and boost their character, and many would probably quit the game/leagues should they not be able to. The same people who RMT are the people who buy the most microtransactions in the shop. Food for thought.
