Forcing us to Poo2?
" Yes, i imagine if you don't care about market value in an economy, the provisioning wombgifts are probably insanely good, even better than well rolled items from shipments in 3.25 and far far away from poe 2 design. |

" Streamers are just people. You hold some rancid opinions against people who just play video games live on Twitch for people's enjoyment. Streamers aren't a monolith either. They have differing opinions on the state of the game and what's good and what isn't, and if anything they have been a positive influence on the game. I can recall many moments where someone highlighted an issue with the game or made a suggestion for good QoL. E.g. streamers like Ziz and Mathil often highlight issues with endgame loot scarcity during league launches. The feedback then gets amplified by their considerable audiences, which helps push GGG towards rebalancing loot drops. More loot, you guys always cry about more loot, no? Now, can you come up with even one instance where a streamer's feedback led to the game getting worse somehow? The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

" and yet it makes no difference if someone has 1000 mirrors and someone has 1 or 0. They all can do 40 challenges, or anything they want and grind all their free time freely choosing what content to play. I've always found the obbsession over loot pretty funny. Once you try ssf you know what I mean. Only you matter there. |

" I pretty firmly disagree with this in general, not just PoE streamers. They are not doing this out of the goodness of their heart, they are monetizing the gaming hobby and now manipulate people's fomo and hype cycles to get revenue. But the real negative impact I think streamers have is allowing the developers to offload a whole bunch of the game on to the community. PoE is nuts and pretty much impossible to actually complete successfully with only the information and tools available in game. you HAVE to watch content creators and download 3rd party tools to fully participate in the game. the game has also become balanced around having that information at your fingertips, and the loot economy is 'balanced' around running the strats that are popularized by streamers. if you're not watching youtube and learning the best way to play you're going to be below the curve. In contrast, D2 is fully completeable with the tooltips in game imho. The game is designed as a solo playeable game from start to finish and you get more than enough loot. playing with others as a party or engaging in the economy is much more of a side pursuit then the intended way to play. just my .02 |

" This is a big ol' nothing burger, sorry. 1) In any game with in-depth mechanics and complex systems it is of great advantage to know the game in and out. This transcends genre too, and PoE is no exception to that rule. The game isn't "balanced" around knowledge, it happens to be designed to be a hardcore ARPG and knowledge is key to a successful journey. Don't be fooled by the apparent ease with which most veteran players beat the game's hardest content. All the knowledge that has been compiled by the community over the years of the game's course allows it to be "easy." I for one certainly don't watch Youtube or Twitch, and my build choices are informed by items I find interesting. But for a casual or less experienced player it has sway to follow what a Streamer does as their streams pretty much function as a showcase of whatever build they play. I fail to see how that is a bad thing though. Even before platforms like Twitch became popular you had game guides and FAQs that had the best available tactics for any given game. This is not unique to streams. 2) You have it completely backwards on your argument against streamers based on lack of guiding systems in game. Streamers fill a void that has been left by GGG. If it wasn't for Streamers, new players would be left without any resources beyond the wiki and other helpful players in game. This is a valid criticism of GGG, but not of streamers. 3) Calling streamers manipulative for making money from streaming their game of choice is straight up weird. The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge. Last edited by ArtCrusade#4438 on Nov 30, 2025, 2:50:44 PM

Dumb questions like this is one of the biggest issues of letting players have 50% more currency drop as part of the league mechanic and then letting that league run on for an entire year...
There is nothing wrong with the loot drop, you simply are playing with a party if 1. |

There is a far bigger nerf to loot quantity than just the removal of the mercenary (50%) bonus.
" Yes the devs made it clear with keepers league that solo players need not apply. |

Et tu poo te

that is exactly my thinfoil idea, they nerfed poo1 to the ground so poo second part looks appealing.
For the people overestimating the loot from merc league, far back in settlers for example, loot was good, mechanics were worth, so no, is not us not getting that 50% extra, ground loot and tinks are gone, nobody cares if a div is 300c + in a hyperinflated economy, all we want is chase an item and FEEL you are getting there, farming scarabs endlessly to turn into chaos then into divs gets old very fast. Yeah we get it is the same relative effort, but at the same time, the need of a mirror item to farm harder is not even necessary this league, for this game and the power that perfect items gives to the players those DO REQUIRE an ultra high end game mechanics, so the gear obtained makes any sense, and it doesn't sadly, which is the exact same problem poo2 has. |
