🚨 PoE 3.27: Broken Trade Market and Frustrating UI on PS5
|
i have been begging for cross market for years now , i dont think it will ever happened , the community is simply too small to impact ggg , in other terms we dont matter that much (if you are an old console player ,you probably noticed it by now ) since there biggest focus is pc , and now with poe 2 even poe 1 for pc getting a bit less work (smaller updates ) so for something big to happen to console thats a bit wishful thinking

Honestly, what really gets me about this UI disruption, is the new form of trading. It literally takes so long just to find an item. In poe2 its not as bad, because the actual base of and actual base of mods do not exist ( yet ).
I have Purchased many stash tabs, i have also purchased a couple of supporter packs, because i believed in GGG's model of business, and i enjoyed playing the game. I even pre purchased Poe2, even though i think Poe 1 is fare superior. The real issue that i have is this. By purchasing products already for the ability to trade, the trade it self wasent broken. It was awesome, you could see the items, and pick which ones you would bid on. you could see what other items where listed as by just a click of button. This was very easy to navigate. Now the general public wanted a Buy Out option. Instead of having to wait for people on the other end to accept the trade, they wanted a immediate by option. Here is what really bothers me. GGG's response. We will entirely re work the trade system, remove what is not broken, implement a very hard to use design for the people who have already purchased our product, AND will add this other option ( that this entire rework is based around now ) that provides this buy out option. Oh and guess what, well charge for this too ! Of course i complained. Their response to this. I still have the same capabilities and i have lost nothing. But i have though. I have lost the ease to which to trade. I have lost the ability to easily access to see what to list said items for. I now have to go through their new trade system OR PAY MORE to have access to their full trade system. Anyways, my point is, GGG does not care anymore. You can clearly see their business model is changing. Make as much profit as we can, stop listening to our supporters, and implement new game designs to force our supporters to make more money. Sounds like a Blizzard model to me. |

Also we lost the merchant tab function on all premium tabs which we had before and the ability to use merchant tabs in ssf which we had before with premium tabs ^^
they clearly don't care about console players 1% and just focus on improving it for pc players still not understanding that on console it's a different game -_- 1 year before we get EA standards of greed destroying their game forever ^^ |

I noticed that you can actually use the trade website on your PC / tablet / smartphone, and as long as you're in-game, clicking the 'Travel to Hideout' option on the website will teleport you in-game and automatically open the Faustus window with the item highlighted.
It's not perfect, but much better than using the difficult to navigate in-game "market" browser... |

they planned for crossplay, therefore giving us the same trade system and sony denied them and now we are stuck with a worse trade system having lost a lot of value in stash tabs and GGG refuses to accept that it was a terrible step for console and saying they are not capable to undo the changes ^^
If there is no crossplay the next 2 years it's probably better just to give us the trade from 2 years back ^^ as GGG noticed that it would be worse the way it is now and still did it you start to lose confidence in the company after tencent bought it :( everything is getting more money depending since then which is a weird coincidence |

So I have my PS5 at my desk with my PC so price checking is just a case of using the website on the PC, not as easy as the tools PC players have, but not as difficult as using the ingame trade site like most console players presumably do (or just use the trade website on your smartphone).
I personally like the async trade shop a lot better than the old trade board, primarily because it's an instant buyout system, it was the "offer" system that made the old trade board horrible. I'm not a huge fan of the currency exchange. The UI is a bit ass to navigate with a controller, the fact that only the lowest listing is relevant means every listing is just undercut into the ground and meaning you have to babysit your listing if you want to keep it relevant by continually undercutting. The small playerbase also means your listing's stagnate and clog up the limited trade slots, I very often find myself maxed out on trade slots with more to list. The best solution would of course be crossplay with PC, but if that can't happen I'd be all for them deleting the currency exchange and doing all trade through the async shop. This league has been on par with Affliction league for me as far as progress and I'm having a great time and making reasonable amount of currency, but it's definitely a slog compared to what PC players have to do for the equivalent wealth. |

Seriously, how do you do even half this new trade market feature with a controller? It's the most obtuse, janky and frustrating UI I've ever encountered. Obviously whoever designed this has never used, or probably even seen an actual controller before. Ugh, I mean, UX on this game has always been pretty bad, but this is just absurd. Show some pride in your work GGG.
Fixing this is not a giant undertaking. It's simply remapping a few things and updating a few boundaries. That's all. Please do it. And please involve someone who's played with a controller before. |

" If we're talking about the "market panel", yes, the interface is really bad. But you can use the website, if you have a laptop or other device that you can use for it. As long as you log in on the same account, you can do async trade (or whisper trade if you want to for some reason) using that. I do think they need to make improvements to the in-game interface, but the website is fine. If you were talking about the Currency Exchange, I think you're going too far. It's not great, but it is functional, UI-wise. The 10 trade limit is severely problematic on small markets like console, but the interface isn't too bad. | |

Honestly I don't think this game is legal on console in some states because the buttons don't function and the bugs are so prohibitive the game could be argued to be unfunctional. They need to add a disclaimer or declare the console port to be in alpha because I don't think this piece of software meets the threshold of functionality.
I've been running tests with inputs and certain chorded inputs involving the bound action button fail over 15% of the time, with other combos failing 3-5%. I run into a bug which causes shutdown once a day and bugs prohibiting basic actions (interacting with objects, picking up loot) every hour. It's also obvious they won't improve anything, as embarrassing mistakes are left in for years. My firm is putting out feelers, but they're T & Cs are pretty ironclad, boilerplate stuff from a company which operates like this (Saudi EA, Blizzard, etc). I'm no longer going to support them, as I would be deeply ashamed to work with/for these people much less give them anything else of mine, which they have taken for granted at this point. Please consider withholding money that doesn't disrespect you next time you lose something because the game doesn't function properly. These people have a job and you're enabling malfeasance when you buy their virtual trinkets. |
