Stupid trials

I came back after 8 months to check what is current state of the game. I was positively suprised that portals in the maps work as intended, you can came back anytime to hideout and acutally have the same ammount of respawns as portals and maps don't even reset after dying, they don't lose their addiontal affixes, proxies, bonuses etc. like before. Losing xp while dying is still pure BS, If you asked me, it's a goddamn HnS not souls like, even in souls likes you can come back and pick up your xp... Fine, so be it, it's only 10% at the time. I got to the point that I should be doing my last two ascendiesces...

Only to find out, that BASIC CHARACTER LEVELING that is the CORE of the game, is being bricked behind pure RNG, pain and frustration. It's so absurd that like 90% of the players have done that by paid boosting. I don't even have to write more, let's read it again. Player are PAYING for BOOSTING just to interact with BASIC mechanic of the game...

My point is, it was a thing already almost one year ago... The first two trails are was all right, leveling and showing the other mechanics you can use to farm items. But the final two are just beyond reason.

I know it's a hot topic, it's spreading everywhere but still wanted to leave that opinion here. You literally have your OG players, with thousands hours on POE1 saying it's stupid.

Final thought, the pace in you are patching, balancing an updating the game is so pitiful that the moment the game will leave early access (be my abstracting, it will be in 2027...) it will be already dead...

Just add other trails or delete pure RNG affliction nonsense in Sekehmas...You don't even create the trails, you just copy them from the first game anyway...

Did you play act 4? It's obvious there is another trial incoming.

I agree the two trials in the game right now aren't particularly good. However, the fact you can CHOOSE which trial to do is really nice. While overall, I'm lukewarm on the Sekemah trial, the fourth portion wasn't so bad (I can see how it would be near impossible without I strong build). On the other hand, I find the Trial of Chaos a total abomination. Not being forced to play the ToC at all was nice.

The game is vastly better than it was last December. However, there is still a metric shit ton of work to be done on PoE2.Try to relax, and enjoy the game in it's current state, if you can. If you can't, just go do other things and check back later.

I will wait. Mechanically the game is just...pure genius. On ragner games plays like a vertical shooter.

But I REFUSE to do that trails and REFUSE even MORE do the boost the thing.

Work on it please. Just make the trail without absurd afflictions and RNG mechanics...
0.4.0 comes.

New trial / farming should be ready.
No new trial, or no current trail changes in 0.4. GG (...)
Yeah I was looking forward to the new update but then I remembered that you have to do the horrific ascendancy trials and all my excitement instantly went away lol.

Looking for some logical arguments that would justify that approach. Can't find any, besides that most boosters and traders that make money on the games economy are chinese, and GGG is owned by Tencent.

It's making me laught so hard, keeping in the back of my head interview with Jonathan Roberts, talking how AAA companies are greedy fools, divorced from the exepections of the playerbase. It's sound pretty tough, for someone, who just dropped a new update to his game that doesn't affect none of the players concercns, but it has a shit ton of new MTX stuff. 70% of the livestream was about freaking new cosmetics. Dear God...

Worst spend 30$ ever. You can say that I'm some seasonal "causal" player and you might be right. But my brother in law with his friend wchich had 1000+ hours in POE1 say the same thing. NOBODY of them is even considering downloading POE2 again.

Once again, good job GGG, send me an notification in 2 years, when everybody got their piece and we could actually enjoy the game.
They already nerfed getting the first 4 ascendancy points into the ground. First Sekhemas run feels like a walking simulator now, and you can redo it as many times as you need to.

I'm not good at Sekhemas yet, but I finally understood how to create a build in SSF that can farm Temple of Chaos. It feels like a big achievement.

Sorry about your thirty bucks.
Evasion-only melee character that can kill Ubers with cheap gear (SSF Rise of the Abyssal), no armor, no energy shield, 62k eHP:

First Sekhema is rough until you get good relics. But the entry ticket for first 2 points doesn't disappear if you fail, you can try until you succeed. First Chaos is rough if you don't have good EHP, Chaos Res, or decision-making skills (decision-making feels weightier in Sekhema, but that's also much slower). And, again, you get infinite retries if you struggle. Those first 4 points are pretty major upgrades, but both are doable. GGG made sure of it.

The last 2x2 points might take a while, but they're usually less impactful than the first 2x2. They, however, still are doable (3rd 2 sekh, last 2 chaos. or even skip 3rd sekh and get all 2x2 doing chaos). You literally just don't want to gitgud.
rng? the whole game is practically rng. what even is the complaint. you don't like the GAME? sometimes the balance could use some refining/overhaul.

but i think both trials are in pretty solid places (and am bummed we didn't get 3rd trial, or the gd end-game overhaul >:( ). even if i have small complaints/suggestions, i don't really think i can say the balance is way off or anything *needs* to be changed (okay, except for maybe sekhema "you have no armour/evasion" since they buffed "you have no energy shield" into reduced).

i get bristled at some design choices or mid-league patches that seem to favor RMT/Farms too. For example, getting a feeling that GGG's owners (or a rogue employee/leader) is manipulating the game/market/balance to allow economic booms, like an insider trader, is pretty off-putting. but a 1div trial carry is hardly the issue, man.
Don't get lost by being so focused on the target that you forget to enjoy your surroundings.
Git gud? What the hell are you talking about? Is it a skill issue that for example I got hit with "traps are doing 100% more dmg" and a trap-run before the scorpion boss, got a server lag spike and a fireball hit a quarter of inch of my character hood and got insta one-shotted, even the honour bar didn't catch up with it, so I died with full honour gauge and shit goes on and on. You also talking to the From Software fanboy so the argument it's just off, ad-personam what means that you got no arguments and need to attack me.

I maybe exaggerate a little, just to make a bigger impact I guess, but it's stupid. If it wasn't, then boosting would not be a thing.

Second, you can brag to ggg about not trivialzing the game, meanwhile 90% of endgame bulids are -> press one button, everything explodes, eventually more complex opitons -> press two buttons, everything explodes.

The same thing was with POE1 and they finally added a Lab and it was somewhat understandable that it took them time. But freaking TOTA and LAB already exsists, all you need to do is copy-paste them.

If the game was mid, I wouldn't even bother wirte a feedback, but the mechanics are superb and variariety of bulids would be extradonary, if the game was balanced right.

I guess it's all about the lack of competition. Diablo IV is a laughable, looks like a mobile game, others hnss are mid.

I'm talking explict about the third and fourth ascension, the first two was ok, even a year ago.

Neverless, I hope you have fun playing the game, I will wait for what comes first, GrimDawn2 or making a POE2 playable for, like you hardcore players like to say, "filthy casuals" or "daddy gaming". It's the state of modern gaming industry. Either super hardcore ones, that might have a soul but it's hidden beneath stupid mechanics that make players feel "elite" or brainless "selfplaying", generic stuff with a woke idealogy as a cherry on top.
