Main Problem Of Spear

not too many players are playing spear, I think one big problem is : there is no proper spear skills to fight against Bosses.

as we all know, if you play bow + quiver, you can use "Lightning Arrow" to clean map and "Tornado Shot" + "Lightning Rod" to kill Bosses.

while speak of Spear, you can only use "Lightning Spear" to clean map, but no proper skills to handle Bosses. So players refuse to use Spear as weapon.

I thinks GGG should fix it.

You can use two weapons a switch between them freely. Just sayin'

good weapons are expensive, If bow + quiver can satisfy every fight need, why would I need a Spear?

only when Spear can handle every fight need, player would choose Spear as weapon.

I dunno. I tried bows but they weren't that good for bossfights compared to maces or crossbows while those two lack clearspeed of bows and spears.

The single target / bossing spear skills are:

Rapid Assault with a detonator, yes it does in fact provide good dps
Spear of Solaris, not remotely difficult to hit boss with full blast
Rake, to apply higher value bleeds
Arguably the Whirlwind creators, just because you can leave a whirlwind on the boss akin to leaving Rake's bleed active
Storm Lance, because you can just leave them there or detonate alongside RA's spearheads.

For clearing out the hordes across maps,
Lightning Spear
Rake again
Spearfield if you've built for hazards at all
Glacial Lance
Storm Lance again
and Serpents Fury if you've got frenzy generation
are all good, it's not just lightning spear.

Primal Strikes would be good if consuming shocks wasn't an annoying part of it,
And Blood Hunt is fine just unnecessary since mobs are dying immediately anyway, instead of standing around with blood loss to hunt.

I played spear and never used lightning spear.
I had no problem for bosses or mobs on map.

As the person above said, loads of options.

There are two,

- Spear Stab
- Spear Throw

Those are among highest single target damage skills. Stab and throw bosses to death!!!
