The only reason ssf exists is so that players who would play trade league like it was ssf, don't complain about being in the same ladder as traders. The separate ladder is the only "change" ssf is ever going to get, as far as GGG is concerned.

It's a challenge league. To play hardcore, you need patience. To play SSF, you need knowledge: where do things drop, how to make a decent build out of random gear, and how to craft better gear.
Both SSF and Hardcore play a lot slower than trade. In HC, you have to avoid or run away from a lot of fights. In SSF, you have to grind more, because you can't just buy what you need. Example: I'm trying to get a Rakiata's right now, and I'll need to run Jade Isles for as long as that takes. In PoE1, I usually played SSF Standard, because there were so many things to farm, I couldn't get to them in a single league. Standard allowed me to build new characters faster. I've been doing leagues in PoE2 so far, because there isn't much content yet. SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

Higher drop rate would ruin the challenge: Playing the game like everyone but without trading or be in a party.

I only play SSF
Its "The game" Dont listen to anyone telling you its a challenge league. The the game played exposing its core mechanics. You don't have the option to solve all of the Jank by having a marketplace. You loot items. You craft items. You play single player. You experience the game, you don't buy a win. It's more accurate to say trade league is easy mode. SSF is core. Hardcore is challenge league. If you're considering ssf consider this.
The people i know that play ssf or hcssf do it mostly because if you play sctrade the game is too easy once you have a lot of knowledge about the game. Unless you enjoy just blasting maps for weeks on end with no real goals other than seeing your divines go up you will get burnt out quicker every league as you learn more about the game/economy. Another thing, you don't have to deal with the economy or farming strats that are just there to make you more currency. You just play the actual game that is poe. It really comes down to your knowledge and preference. There is nothing about ssf that will help you get more items though. Stock market simulator is not poe. ssf(and you can play sctrade and not be a stock market simulator but you will be poor) is the only way to play poe, the community created stock market simulator. Its really up to what you enjoy about the game. Thats the beauty of it. |

In every other MMO-ARPG where there is an "SSF" type option, there will always be a benefit along with that option LIKE Increased drop rate among many more because your already at a MAJOR DISADVANTAGE cutting yourself off from all outside help, sadly GGG designs the CORE GAMEPLAY AROUND TRADING, all balancing everything all comes down to the market and currency exchange, this is how they balance, they know players can just buy anything they need so now they gotta make this wealth "harder" to obtain resulting in more game time (alotta times less fun)
I'll use Last Epoch as an example, Gives players the choice between 2 "Factions" a Trading faction giving you access to the Marketplace, and a Fortune faction which gives you access to essentially buying maps with guranteed rewards to Target farm, Items dropped while your in the Fortune faction CAN'T be traded which makes it even more fair, use one faction to get the gear YOU NEED, switch to other faction to start farming and getting items you can trade These factions also have levels, there are ways to increase the levels giving you access to even more benefits of said faction, Fortune faction well the higher the level the more drops you'll get higher affixes guranteed etc, with trading faction im honestly not sure as I've never chosen it xD but this balance is perfect Players who want to play the game how they want to play it can play it that way and not have their gameplay experience be negativley affected due to entire game being balanced around community play and trading MAKE SSF FUN, scratch that, PLEASE BRING BACK THE FUN IN THIS GAME :( |

" Poe1 has stuff to help you target farm things. They're called divination cards. Funny enough they have been nerfed so hard you can't reasonably farm most of the rare ones anymore because they're balanced around fubgun and his followers. |
