lets talk about what normal players want
|
Hi POE team,
I want ask this because I really like POE1 and POE2 but i stopped playing because of the following - the game map is getting reset every season even if i want to only play in standard edition but it will reset the map every season as a normal players i get tired of keep repeat the same levels over and over without any progression, what i mean by this, is that for me i do play between time to time but i do have family and job so i play like 1 or 2 hours and not daily, so lets say i got to the maps and start to work on way through the map and by time i start to want to try other content of the game then the map reset when new season start and then i had to work through the map again, here is another example for example i want to get my 4 void stones and fight the other bosses in delve and other content but i never able to do it because the map will get reset even on standard edition and then i have to start work thought the maps again and again by the time i get ready to get my void stones, i get like one and then map reset again, i know the season is about 3 month but like i said can not play every day i do like to progress even if take me time because i like to check every map and not just rush through it like all hard core games since they did play alot so they know what they are looking for. My suggestion if they can keep at least the standard edition as it is and reset even make the map is standard and don't need to be reset every season, i mean the map season can be change that is fine but make the standard edition for players like to keep play and progress, again I like POE so much but i did stop after 4 and 5 season because i can not keep up and loss my progression. thank you. The Atlas map takes one map to redo each league reset.
Quite simple really. ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.

" a lot of people keep repeating this but its actually wrong. every new season comes with new map rotations. there will always be a handful or 2 of new maps that the player has to "reclear" to get his final atlas points. for sure you will unlock MOST of your points with 1 map. but those newer maps added into rotation needs to be unlocked. a lot of people would defend GGG saying stuff like "its still minimal effort". but to me why do we settle for mediocracy when we can have something better? instead of defending GGG with such lame ass "but its so easy to get it back to max", why arent we not fighting for GGG to just ensuring that standard players dont need to go thru the hassle. or are we all "standard hating" people. i find it sad that std haters exist. whenever i point out the shit that GGG did to standard, its quite common to see people condescendingly reply with shit like "the problem is you're playing standard". It's only the 4 T16 maps that you have to run each time Standard resets. Not a big deal.

I do not and will not use TFT. Gaming Granny :D 🐢🐢🐢🪲🪲🪲 @xjjanie.bsky.social |

" Yes, that's wrong. You need to clear 1 corrupted rare T16 from the previous rotation and then the remain 4-5 T16 rare corrupted to get the remaining points. However, you can easily fix OPs issue by doing the same thing with lower tiers. OP needs to get the highest tier map he has of the old rotation, rare corrupt it and he'll basically resume his atlas progress. It's a knowledge issue, which is fair. What OP got wrong is that std and league sc share the same updated map pool, so the reset is necessary. |

" i do not know how poe map progression is tracked but i think its a very much solvable issue. i believe how the atlas progression is coded is where atlas progression is tied to MAPs directly instead of atlas progression. how i believe the current system is Maps Data would roughly be like this MapID : Defiled Temple AtlasVersion: Ambush Unlocked: Yes Atlas bonus: Yes In standard the entire atlas is reset. but when we clear a t16 map the code would do the following. Check all mapIDs of CurrentAtlasVersion. If mapID (mapname) exists in current atlas and is the same as previous atlas, then copy unlock and atlas bonus status to the mapID with the currentatlasversion. the first problem i have with this is why is this script not automated? why do players have to run this script manually by completing a t16 map? second. is that this way of tracking maps is a guaranteed way to be inefficient in a long run. the proper way is to have the database the other way around. Atlas passive bonus table - this table is used to store atlas passive unlocks by each individual point - this lists and ID value from 1 to 500 (500 for future proofing) - Another value is "Atlas bonus unlocked" T/F - Unlock requirement - League ID in this new system, instead of RESETTING the atlas, instead the scripts just checks to make sure anything unlocked in the previous league is now unlocked in standard. standard users dont need to do a single thing. also using this data system theres no need for standard atlas to be reset at all unless the entire altas is revamped to something different entirely. the obvious drawback is "how do we convert the old data to the new ones". to which i would say, the easiest way is not to find a away to migrate the data. just force this new data structure on to standard. the expansion this data structure is introduced, just wipe standard atlas progress and force standard players to redo their atlas ONCE. but with the promise that they wont have to do the silly re unlocks ever again. when you play an standard RPG Role Playing Game there is an authority called the GAME Master, they are meant to set control and change world rules at will, technically every season is a NEW set of rules as described for the GM aka patch notes, this is what makes poe enjoyable.
I cannot imagine playing this game with the same rules every 4 months, this is the spice, the flavor, a game in constant evolution for the good and the bad, the boring and the exciting. When you are not a brain-rotten guide follower and actually go by yourself, every season is a nice challenge to have for the long or short term. If you don't enjoy the journey rpg's- arpgs are not for you, as the end is well known, a character usually (with enough time) endsup as an overpowered creature able to one shot gods, the question is how? when,. for how long? what class?. I'm a normal player, that's what I want. |

Normal player here.
Uhhh what do I want from POE... 2 things: 1) Definitely something that makes leagues stand out or have some uniqueness to them. For example: Mercenaries for me, was just settlers all over again, but with a glorified AG following you around. Why I quit really early. 2) Tree/Skill/Class Changes Pretty easy to satisfy customer here. Mash the clean
