Wisps should follow the player, not the other way around

+1

It's just stupid to have this the other way around.
Combat Balance > Feelings
I have always thought they need to just go ahead to the closest rare without the player once activated.

I had no idea other people were ignoring them too.
I think i've posted exactly the same suggestion, in any case +1
Discuss ideas, not people.
Whisps is a mechanic from POE2 original.
It never worked because the game was turned into zoomy POE1.5.
I don't even bother with them. They could just delete them from the game and it wouldn't matter to me.
OMG this

wisps are so bad

Being able to target a wisp (say, drag it into a breach or hang about in a ritual) would possibly make them not terrible

I afree, I think 99% of players pretty much ignore them now.
Still very much relevant since they are adding a lot of wisp interactions in 0.5
+1 If the wisp mech is the same we got before, and from what we've seen from the reveal - is pretty much the same, excluding boss possessions. My personal opinion is that this content gonna be doa for 99.9% of the playerbase.

All people i know hated the wisp mech previous, and only 0.1% really were pushing it trying to get those cool unique charms while hating it even more in the process.

So if no change was made it's almost doa for most of us. We either need wisps just to take off on the interaction, or they should just stick to the player as OP stated, and posses the thing they interacting with screen wide in size.

The issues: The wisp mechanic currently just doesn't work in endgame because they are too slow and don't keep up with the players, they take too long to affect monsters and they don't even always target the nearest rare and make you backtrack a lot.

My solution: Making wisps follow the player or even attach to the player and empower monsters around you would solve all these problems and would actually make us engage with them instead of just ignoring them.

yeah when they go anywhere near the direction i came from its an instant ignore.
not gonna follow them half way back through a cleared map for some shit i wont even pick up.
:D
