Unpopular Opinion: I miss towers I hate micromanaging Tablets every Map.

I don't think disliking the micromanagement of tablets should necessarily mean you miss the old system (towers). It'd be much better if clicking the atlas node just opened up your stash and allowed you to select maps and tablets from your map tab without having to carry them in your inventory.

They could also allow you to either mark specific maps or to somehow "favorite" or blacklist certain affixes so maps/tablets you may be interested in are auto highlighted in this UI.

the map system now is not perfect but its 10 times better then what we had whit Tower setups
but they did say they are not set in stone whit it and they are going to make some changes

im happy they "killed" the tower setup mess we had sadly in process they created some annoying bugs

I would love to see a system like towers, but without overlaps. Like, maybe a bunch of maps are bundled into a "region" or "block", and each region had a central village or castle or temple or whatever. When you capture it, like you would with a tower, you can install a mayor or sheriff or priest, like with tablets. The central area will then influence all the other maps in the region, but not any other region. That way, bonuses cannot overlap, and places on the atlas map have a sense of identity, through distinct regions and mayors and what not.

Edit: And then, whenever you are doing a map, what you are doing is really securing that road or pathway. By killing all the rares in the area, or a boss if the area has one (imagine pre-0.3.1), you then make that pathway safe for supply lines. That's how you expand Doriani's influence.

I kinda weirdly enough also enjoyed the tower minipuzzle.

Anything that is more than "click map - play" is bad. I want all my adjustments from atlas tree(s) and not instill waystones with all kinds of shit, this is a game not a job.

I willing to admit I was wrong on the "I miss towers" part but a better system for tablets (or bonuses for maps) would be nice though.

This is a perfect example of how the community needs to be careful what they wish for. Maybe question what streamers say before echoing it.

The maps suck. Towers or not. The atlas needs to be a real map of wraeclast. The biomes should fit the regions they are in.
