Season's over

So I just got to the 4th act on my Deadeye, the Expedition Island. Having a blast, ripping through everything. I click a Strong Box, I can't attack anything. No buttons are working, not even dodge. I lost the entire Islands loot, because the game didn't work. Loss is one thing...

... Nah. I'm going to play something else.

If you hover over the Strongbox there's a prefix called "Freezes you when activated". Just carry a Thawing Charm and equip it when you run into one of these. Kill a few mobs to recharge the charm and then open the box.

I just let them freeze me though because I can dodge away by the time the mobs spawn in.

I wasnt frozen, I have the Thawing charm. Also it was a chaos box...

If it makes you feel better I've never had that island drop me anything good to the point where I've intentionally started skipping it and not collecting the map pieces.

Spoiler. Mid tier endgame gear is 50+ div each, low-mid tier jewels 100-500 div. If you don't have temple built - you can't afford anything after campaign.

And it's no longer possible to build temple anymore. It could be the best league ever, but it turned out the worst due to bugs, imbalance and game design issues that persist since s1

There's an old bug that prevents you from doing anything but moving, which occurs if you open a strongbox while dodge-rolling. I can't remember if there was ever a fix for it, so this could be the culprit.

many people dont notice sometimes wearing a wrong belt that have increased charm charge use can cause the charm not to work at all.

You have to make sure the charm will work specially with the ingenuity belt

Assuming you weren't frozen and that it indeed was a bug - I do have to say, playing a game that is known to have bugs and is in early access and having a blast with it, and then quitting due to one bug that cost you basically nothing as I assume you play on SC, is a bit.. well. Sounds like a failure of expectation management. Either in your or GGG's part.

Yep.

If you want T2 spell level and spell damage and some cast speed, you pay like what.. 0.2 divines?

And those rolls are enough to do all the content in the game.

It costs under 10 divines to set a character up to clear T15/T16 with good pace and to be able to do all pinnacles and the temple.

That trade exists and that streamers and content creators run mega broken builds that just blitz forward while everything around dies instantly creates this expectation that everyone should be able to do that. It's unfortunate.
