it isn't fun to become powerful

I don't find it fun in this game to become (too) powerful.
One main issue seems to be that game mechanics get removed at later stages of the game: -instead of having to dodge poison puddles, I can stay within them due to chaos inculation -drinking mana potions can be replaced by mana leech -targeting enemies can be replaced by super large AoE's -combos gameplay isn't needed anymore if single skills kill the enemies -if I become too tanky, I can get hit by normal monsters abilities that would otherwise be threatening -if I kill enemies too quickly there won't be kiting -if I get (energy/frenzy/etc.) charges easily, the gameplay of generating and spending charges falls away -if I can instantly reload my crossbow, the gameplay of reloading falls away and so on... Another lategame issue is significantly worse balance and too large monster hordes. Now I don't say that every particular case of this has to be bad - e.g. there can be a world with engaging poe 2 gameplay were mana mana management plays no role. However in general, I find this removal of game mechanics in actual lategame gameplay to be highly concerning - it's like removing the fun out of the game by trivializing the gameplay. Your build is only as strong as you make it.

You're choosing to trivialize your gameplay by building to skills that aren't currently well balanced. Just don't do that and the game gets a lot more fun.

One of the nice parts about this game is your ability to make the game you want.
Absolutely nothing is stopping you from NOT allocating CI or challenging yourself. You can play hardcore, you can set your own personal challenges, you can set your own personal limits. |

I think the game need to put a cap to rarity on gears and rarity on maps mutiplied in total. So the only way to maximize loots tiers is to challenge harder content like getting more mods on rares, bosses, higher delirium, etc. I wish they are more transparent about the loots drop formula, sometimes I ran only t1 maps with 4 mods to travel across citadels and they give more divine tier drops than fully juiced maps.

I don't understand how not being able to kite things is an issue. #1) Is kiting supposed to be fun? I guess if you could occasionally kite something like the monkey maybe? #2) You can't kite anything in this game anyways. It all moves faster or has ranged attacks(again...monkey).
But most ARPGs are designed around power fantasy. Going through the things you mention, struggling to get to that next level. Then you are rewarded with blasting things. Since they haven't really shared much about the vision, we don't know where the goalpost is supposed to be. |

" Adding another voice to this. In my current run, my character isn't allowed armor or energy shield -- only evasion and deflection. I've had to think about mechanics I never considered before. SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

" What if I told you that you can slow enemies and move out of range of their attacks? Would you believe me? |
