totally can, your build is just bad
its either do more damage/build more defenses or sacrifice one of these for more loot drops. the "correct" way is to push for more rarity but it doesn't mean you can't play the game lmao |

SSF, 0% Item Rarity, I'm fine
I already have more materials than I know what to do with. I suspect that if we're given a baseline rarity increase, I won't be able to control how long it takes for one of my characters to progress. It's like the topic of homogenizing skills; if they all do the same amount of crowd-control and damage, you effectively have the same experience with every character except the animations are different. There's a reason you still have like 0.2% of players maining a skill like Hailstorm Rounds and it's not because they want to be contrary. You won't be able to control how the game is experienced nor the pace of your progression. All of a sudden you're pushing content faster and you're not hitting walls as early or frequently. This is why I am for item rarity. Imagine keeping the ease of crafting this league and then making 150% rarity a baseline for everyone without needing to invest in gear. There needs to be a trade-off somewhere. I'm sure they can handle IR another way, but a huge part of you not being able to min-max fast enough a month and a half into league is due to the player count being reduced to a sixth of what it was at start. This is how it goes historically. It becomes like Standard in a sense. There also isn't much content to push nor is it that difficult, even for SSF toons with non-meta builds. Efficient doesnt really mean anything.
Would have to apply this same reasoning beyond just rarity and the logic breaks down. Otherwise EVERYONE would play a single build. Which is not the case. Mash the clean

Rarity is like a catch 22.
If your build needs all 6 modifiers and you have the item already, why get or worry about rarity? Your build is complete. If your build needs all 6 modifiers and you don't have the item yet, then that item is probably going to be much cheaper than another with 5 modifiers and rarity. So going for rarity will take you longer to gear up. If your build doesn't need all 6 modifiers then you can go for rarity or not. It doesn't make a difference as your build is complete for cheap. All it does it get you more currency in the stash. |

You could always play this game without rarity and nobody was even talking about it.
But suddently since some days everybody is saying it's impossible. I play without rarity, i get drops, i can progress and i'm still having fun on my mediocre build... SSF player
