Fix your Endgame!
" I might be a space cadet, but I'm a space cadet who doesn't die a lot. Unlike the super geniuses who are complaining about getting wiped. SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

0.4 is supposedly going to address the endgame in a big way. But yeah, maybe calm down.

I'd hope you wouldn't be dying when your not using your atlas points. It would be truly sad if you were with unjuiced maps and unused points.

" You do realize that the people who get to level 100 often run a lot of "easy" maps, right? Are people who get on the ladder "sad"? If so, boo hoo, maybe I can be sad enough someday too. I’m pretty sure that boss attacks which aren’t even marked in red shouldn’t be able to one-shot a player when you have 80% of the possible defense collected. For example, I have 90% of the possible defense, and yet any random spit in my direction that isn’t signaled in red can still kill me. Right now bosses are completely broken. I just farm the map, skip the boss, and clear it on a level 1 map just to complete it. And this is the reality of patch 0.3.1. The developers aren’t in any rush to fix it. At the moment, it doesn’t feel like they’re trying to do anything about it, and the patch has been an outright disaster for the gameplay experience.

" It doesn’t matter — I understood what he was saying, and he’s right. The game is heavily specialized toward a select few, yet it’s been marketed in a way that misdirects everyone else. The store page right now shows fluid, dynamic combat — something that looks like it could appeal to a much broader audience. And yet the most common dismissive response I see is, “This game just isn’t for you.” That’s the problem. It was sold as if it was for us. If I put you in front of Anatolij Karpov, would you not have fun? Is chess not a good game? Of course it is — but only a tiny fraction of people actually play it compared to video games. A good term for this would be Yodomi, which loosely means something stagnant. It describes something that’s become so insular that only the same group continues to swirl around in it — and that’s fine if that’s what it is. The problem with this game is that, unlike chess, it doesn’t present itself that way. Everyone knows what chess is when they buy a chessboard — they know it’s deep, brutal, and unforgiving, and that they’ll get crushed by a grandmaster like Karpov. That’s fair. But what happened here is that 99% of players expected something else — something more like Path of Exile 2, and instead they got chess. And the worst part? They only found that out after spending their money. Don’t tell me about refunds either — most players' advice is to “adjust your build and keep playing.” The real endgame — the point where people realize what this game actually is — comes 20 hours in. Way past the refund window, and way past a fair chance to make an informed choice. |

" If I spent as much money as you did on this game and wasn't happy/riding it like it was the only arpg without issues, I'd entertain that response. But we live in reality... |

The end game is just a mess, and the most recent fixes ..... whatever.
between the crashing, the end game mess of what the heck are we doing, what are we supposed to be doing? What is the focus, how do you get to the main bosses? And then the just slow -------- slow ------- maps that take 20 mins along with the occasion one shot that came from some hell that can not be identified which screws up your rank progress. Really just not that fun to play. Add to that the trade market is crazy expensive so unless you are very successful quickly in the release you can't get the gear you need and for the same reason you can't create the gear you need, you just get stuck can't progress further. There very clearly are only very few builds that actually work well, Lightning arrow and the monk seem to be the only 2 that really work well enough to progress according to Poe Ninja builds taking, even then lack of currency/gear pretty much trash them also. For reference i built 2 characters, Necro and deadeye. Deadeye was ok Necro was very weak but sorta playable. Both lack better gear but I have only seen 3 divine drops in 200 maps. Most of the gear needed to make progress cost 5, 10. 100, 500 divine. Game state is disappointing at best. |
