Answer to Boss on every map

"
if youre getting one shot by any map boss your build is a problem not the boss.

That's an excellent advice - both deep and eloquent! It did address shortcomings that were never presented. The boring/mundane story got a well-fitting ending, too.

Was presented in a comment before mine.

The player has trouble with bosses one shotting them

Mash the clean
The bosses are in a weird state, like the squeeze isn't worth the juice. Powerful bosses like the one on the Shrine map moves around so much with a 25 million plus health pool and has abilities to deal thousands of damage that are not slams is a bit over the top for the paltry reward you get, basically the best strat is to just gun down all the rares on the map without backtracking then skip the map bosses that are HP sponges or are hard to deal your payload damage to IE. they move around erratically.
+1 for bosses being optional on maps

for example, the stupid sky seer bird on the cenotes map
unless you nuke her, she flies up and for the next minute is untargetable, unseen and untouchable
while she sends dozens of tornadoes after you

you're forcing me to play meta builds that can both clear the map fast and oneshot stupid bosses

so much for diverse builds.. if i wanted to play a single functional build, i'd still be playing spiritborn in diablo...

Run away from them until they stop, then attack. It helps to have DPS, but that boss is more an immobility check -- freeze, stun, electrocute. If you have any of that, you'll dodge a lot fewer tornadoes.
SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

The solution isn't to remove or make optional the bosses. The solution is to balance them and improve their drops a bit so they are more fair and more rewarding.

I'd like to see the bosses spawn like the corrupt bosses do. Once you kill the last rare, the boss shows up. This makes sense in a logical way, and it gives incentive for players to actually play through the map instead of trying to skip every map's content just to get to the next map so they can skip it and get to the next map ad nauseum. It's just bad game design to promote players not playing your game's content.

The reason why I'm not feeling bosses on every map is the empowered boss nodes.

Because there's an very inconsistent delta between the ENTIRE map and some of the empowered bosses.

Some of the empowered bosses are pushovers, some are just a pain. To be fair, I'm playing my own custom warrior build that I love and will never follow a build guide.

I just don't like the idea of content being tuned for these broken builds because that kills build diversity and punishes anyone that goes off the beaten (pun intended) path.

So either give me agency in engaging with bosses or improve the bossing experience so that it's not just an issue of brute forcing the encounters with broken builds.
+1 to bosses being optional

also boss atlas tree is completely useless. i tested it both with full points and no points. loot is the same. there is no incentive to do bosses with all atlas points. they never drop anything
