Made for streamers and people that can play hours nonstop
Okay, they put in hundreds of hours within weeks and then quit until the next season. You, as a casual, have 3 months to do the same. The season doesn't stop because they did.

" To lose 3/4 of customers? Yes thats nice to calculate for the future with shrinking numbers. A dream for companies |

OP wants the rewards of hundreds of hours of work, while only putting in tens. You got plenty of time left. Get grinding.

" Correct as of 0.3 because of asynchronous trading. Previously the league DID absolutely die within 3 weeks because 80% of the playerbase left, leaving trade dead on its track and suddenly everyone found themselves in a crappy weird limbo of SSF or overpriced items due to a screwed up economy. " 2 hours per day, 5 hours on a weekend day, and 20 hours in a week are all measurements that are far more than what the sizable majority of people have to work with. Additionally, the majority of people who do spend what little free time they have on games, want to play multiple games. Not just one. An otherwise normal person who has 20 hours a week to dedicate to gaming, is going to spend less than half of that on any one particular game. An actual normal person doesn't have that much time to spare in the first place. The average gamer should be expected to put in less than 5 hours to a specific game per week. You're trying to argue against the idea that the game is built for people who will dedicate a lot of time to it, but your example of a "casual" was somebody with far more time on hand than normal, and far more single-game dedicated than normal. So basically, a would be no-lifer. |

" On the contrary, it is the widespread approach that loses more customers, a fact publishers keep learning. When you try to appeal to everyone, you appeal to nobody, and the game dies. Pick your target audience, and the game lasts because the people actually appealed to keep it alive. |

" Losing players is not the same as losing customers. Their business model is to maximize the number of supporter packs. They specifically designed PoE1's business model so it would be profitable forever with just 20,000 regular players. I don't think they've released projections for PoE2, but I am certain PoE2 is profitable right now, with the number of players it has right now. Since GGG is owned by a Chinese holding company, there is less pressure to expand the market than there would be if they were owned by a US private equity firm. They might have gone to the trouble of creating ideal user personas. Their Asian publisher has probably crafted some targets like that for them. But I wouldn't be surprised if most of the marketing decisions were, "Oh that game feature cool, let's do that." They make a game they enjoy playing, and other people in the world enjoy it too. SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

Trying SSF or even HC SSF is a good advice. I would recommend this too.
Just play SSF and have fun in campaign, without looking at the streamers who "win" the game in a week. |
