I sincerely believe this is all a leadership crisis. Your CEO has let himself be lured by the siren song and sought a pat on the back from those who only play POE when they have to fulfill an advertising campaign.

In reality, its the other way around.

Streamers are just parroting what they hear from their audience and wider community, who make up the majority of players.

Their entire existence depends on being popular and so they will mirror the masses.

PoE has thrived for over a decade, the supporters are loyal. GGG are currently catering to the PoE2 tourists which is driving away a decade old community.

This is why the numbers keep dropping, and is why the game will ultimately fail unless it corrects course back to the PoE1 expansion/upgrade it was always supposed to be.

The loyal supporters will continue to be pushed aside and the tourists will move on to the next shiny of the financial quarter.

0.3.1 was a league ending patch for me, but hopefully they look at the feedback from the testing period and avoid this in 0.4

yes huge blow to their reputation but massive gain for profits. even the drama surrounding this back and forth, streamer rage, etc drives exposure.

i said it already and i will say it again- Blizzard did more honest job with D2R, that's crazy imo that it came to that

Basically ever mass hysteria event in POE1 or POE2 can be traced back to a streamer. Anytime you suddenly see a bunch of people complaining about some random thing, that wasn't even brought up a few days earlier, go to twitch/youtube and you'll find some streamer complained about it the day before.

It's the same with builds, farming strats, etc. Streamers lead the pack, lemmings follow.

hes right except he generalized chatters to 'majority of players'. streamers don't say their own takes, they appeal to chatters to make money. just look at the streamers expression when he mentioned the act1 zone 2 wolves lol. he almost chocked on it
