I hope the infinite atlas will still get removed or changed in 0.4

I would prefer a map of wraeclast, even if they made it large. I dont like scrolling the map as it is, at least not infinitely. I would even prefer the 2d delve map because its easier to read and track progress.

the only thing holding the current atlas map up are the bookmark tools in the top left. without those the map would be almost unuseable after a couple weeks of mapping.

When I made a hardcore character I actually felt pretty refreshed when I saw my atlas was small and reset compared to my sc atlas map.

If they made it a map of wraeclast maybe you could select a region of wraeclast, and click a "scout" button. It would then return several maps you could pick from, some randomly chosen, and some guaranteed maps so that you coould complete your atlas passives and target league content.

Maybe even have one of the scouting options a series of maps. Like if you choose an option, your next 12 maps will be map a -> map b -> map c, etc. All within the region or adjacent regions you selected as you move through wraeclast. The last map could contain a deadly boss or unique map. You would be able to cancel this string of maps and rescout for new ones if you wanted. Maybe half of the maps will be guaranteed to be in the region you picked, but most of the time you will end up traveling outside of the region if you want to make it to the last map.

thats just one idea I had in a couple minutes. regardless of what they do, I still just want to leave a feedback that I dont like the infinite scrolling 3d atlas as it is. Please dont make me scroll this map, or if you did, at least make it 2d and easier to track like the Delve map in poe 1.

I would prefer the basic map system for POE 1 -- the sunken cost fallacy better not mean they are married to this atlas, that would be devastatingly bad.

I'm happy for all the changes they are making -- thrilled I'd even say. But atlas has to die, it's a bad idea meant to waste our time, or, it was made to trick us into not realizing they only have like 10 maps until this league, which is also bad.


Either way, if it's temporary, AND THEY TELL US AS MUCH, I'd appreciate this lil atlas for the time. Unfortunately the grindy setup made me not appreciate anything about it, other than it's eventual deletion :(
