Lost all my savings to a scam - please make this so it doesn't happen.
Went to hideout using in-game trade tool and there was like 12 of the items I wanted. While I was there someone else appeared and started buying up many of the items, so I quickly clicked one of these and bought it for 25ex and then thought I'd get one more just in case my craft failed so snatch up another ... but I made a mistake and say even as I clicked that it was 25div.
This is 100% my own fault. I realise that. But the system makes it an easy mistake to make, and unethical players know how to exacerbate the flaws in the systemic trade. The cost of this easy mistake is a week of evenings spent farming and saving. A whole week worth of maps after work. It's so frustrating. I was buying stuff in anticipation of leveling up a new character and that motivation has now completely gone. I'd also like to add that I find it incredibly disheartening that the people who do this won't face any punishment. It's clearly unethical behaviour but even if trade is eventually fixed, that this sort of stuff happens makes me feel that GGG isn't interested in policing player behaviour. I have spent literally thousands of dollars on this game but will recieve less protection than people out there running the scams. My feedback would be: 1. Please improve the trade UI experience in game so that it's not possible to accidentally buy something for 144 times the price. 2. Please do something to reduce the ability for scammers manipulate the market such that the competition levels for common items result in pressure and distress. 3. Please consider actively tracking and punishing people who abuse the current trade system such that they are disinsentivised to keep this behaviour up. There's an easy fix for this that I've implemented on my end. Staying poor. I don't have divs to get scammed out of. Foolproof. I highly recommend.

The issue is that you cannot check is item's price is somewhat too high because most of items in such game are unique and even slight differences in specific item parameters may greatly multiple its real price.
The thing is, nobody even hurries you to make a mistake, this is not even "active" scamming that used to be in person to person trading. The only thing is ok to implement is to make a setting that will make additional popup window you need to accept if you want to buy something that uses different currency than currencies in your preferences list. |

Agree that players or system can set up some warnings.
Or put some marking on items which price is much higher than the current market value to avoid mistakes. |

" As someone who only traded once so far: Don't you have to have the currency in inventory to complete a trade? If yes, why do you carry 25 div around? If no, this should definitely be changed because then it can't happen that you buy expensive items. |

im pretty sure when you buy something from another players agne the game is capable of taking the currency directly out of your own stash so hes not actually carrying 25 divs around. its actually a great QOL feature and I dont want it to be changed because some players cant use common sense.
that said, i have never once bought something without checking the price. Im seeing a lot of complaints about this "scam" and im just so confused why players are buying things without looking first. Last edited by OniJihn#0420 on Sep 12, 2025, 10:16:37 AM

" Trade uses your currency from your Stash Tab you don't have to carry them in inventory. As for this kind of scam GGG can not do anything. It like a cafeteria is not resposible for your losses while you are sitting there. |

I thought about doing that unethical trade. Undercut an item so someone joins. You have the load of fairly priced, and sneak in somewhere the scam. Doesn't get any easier than that.
I'm a skeptical user and borderline hater.

I doubt you'll ever make that mistake again. Rushing has consequences. Everyone who has been reading about these scams will also be more careful when buying stuff.
Scammers will still be around and get a few players. Nothing much you or GGG can do about that. |
