Casual gamer play Through!

I'm a casual too, i really liked how they balanced the campaign. Despite initial difficulties, it proceeded easily after unlocking the right skills.

I would like to see a bit of increase drop rates of low level uniques though

The problem with crafting is more complicated than what could be solved with a few guides.

For example, for a minion build, +level for minion gems is one of the best modifiers.

1. How does a new player even know that this modifier exists in the game?

Keep in mind that a new player is only exposed to the modifiers they’ve seen on items. Extremely rare or endgame modifiers are hidden from them. If you don’t research, there’s no chance you’ll know what modifiers are available.

2. What items can this modifier roll on?

The +level mod rolled on a scepter. Now the player knows that this exists. But how can they know that it can also roll on a helmet and an amulet?

This is the point when the casual player realizes that most of the gear they thought was good (and spent their currency on) is actually trash. They don’t just need to find a “better” scepter but also a helmet and an amulet as well. Which means they may need to reorganize their resistances or even their entire build after this revelation.

Which begs the question:

3. How are we expecting people to play this game without Craft of Exile, POE Ninja, or Path of Building?

These are great tools, but at the moment they feel mandatory if you don’t want to waste your time and resources.

I got 15 uniques in full clearing everything through the campaign. I thought that was pretty good, though it could be that was not representative of normal drop rates. Two of those came off the roving wisp boss and one off vender purchase reward.

I had some MF at times, but was not prioritising it. Most of them were pretty unusable for my current character, though the ones I got early on in act 1/ act 2 were helpful.
