Need HELP regarding LIVE SEARCH RETRY LIMIT EXCEEDED
I agree with the posts above. The problem isn’t even so much that we’re hitting this limit — it’s that there’s absolutely no information available about how many requests I’ve sent to trigger such a restriction. How many requests do I have left before hitting a 24-hour ban? What’s the issue with providing this information? What level of load, as users, are we actually allowed to put on your massive site infrastructure? Is it really a problem for you to maintain an incoming WebSocket connection that delivers just 2–5 items per second? Then why do WebSocket connections even exist? Just limit the connections that are genuinely overloading the system. What exactly is your problem here? Either provide more transparency, or at least give us enough information to understand what’s going on.
I can see that you, as support and as developers, don’t fully understand the cause of these spikes yourselves — or perhaps you’re unwilling to discuss it. No aggression or hate intended — I’m just deeply frustrated to lose the ability to trade normally in a game I truly love, simply because your site’s infrastructure and its restrictions operate in such an unclear and non-transparent way. |

" This aint what's happening here however! I literally have 5 live search tabs open (manually by me) and I am rate limited from one day to another https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3848810 Read the above thread and you will see just how many people are experiencing issues from one day to another! |

So what is the limitation time, I have been live search restricted for about 17 hours. If you are unable to lift the restriction on your end, would you please be kind enough to let me know how long is the restriction period and how many live search tab can I have them open at a time. I really want to avoid this from ever happening again.
Thank you |

The instant buyout system needs to be changed. Experienced players know that we should buy from people who don’t understand the true value of their items. With live search and instant buyout, this can be done conveniently. You just need quick hands and to stay on the trade website’s live search all day, buying rare and valuable items from newbies for self-use or even resell to earn divines. That's why so many players flood to hideouts in an instant; it's simply too profitable or currency-saving. If you are running maps while searching and find out "oh sorry. the item is gone." This further makes more players leave their gameplay and focus on live searching for these "carelessly priced" items.
While part of the frequent requests may come from bots, I believe most of them are players taking advantage of this system. One solution can be to require every instant buyout item be protected for at least five minutes on the trade website. If more than one player demands it, they should have to bid to obtain the item. This would protect sellers and ensure they receive what they truly deserve. It would also help establish a more sensible market price for these "carelessly priced" items, bringing it closer to a universal price. This change would prevent both intentional and unintentional market manipulation (cheaper item are quickly run out of stock, no time for its price to be set, only expensive item remain), and ultimately reduce the flooding of requests as rushing to hideouts no longer works. | |
