GGG, if you remove a crafting method as a "bug fix", all items created need to be deleted.
It's the same old mantra heard from PoE1: "Exploit early, exploit often".
This time around we're talking a very minor change on how Abyssal Echoes work, and I know it is an extremely minor change in the whole PoE2 economy. But this same will happen again, it has happened again in PoE1, and next league will 100% have same wierd thing in crafting that will be exploited hard and then removed from the game. I don't think it's a design issue nor a development issue, the problem is the mentality to "fix" things mid league and let people who have profited from these methods keep their profits. Again, Abyssal Echoes is extremely minor thing, but we've seen egregious things from crafting exploits (abyssal sockets for example), where GGG supposedly fixes the exploit but exploiters have already banked on it. As a feedback, since it's the section where I'm posting this, please have some internal discussion how these things are dealt in the future. In case of Abyssal Echoes, there wouldn't have been any harm to keep it in the game for the whole league and fix it for the start of the new league (where Abyssal crafting will be heavily modified I'm sure...). I assumed they would remove all the items that bug abused it like they did with the Temporalis exploit back in season 1 LOL it's why I didn't use it at all, regretting that now.

Does anyone care about Standard league having legacy stuff in it? I can't imagine why you would.

The thing is : you can't know who done it on purpose and who doesn't. And investigate is like a lose of time and money. If you punish everyone, people doing it in good faith will be mad.
And anyway, cheat is like everywhere. In sport, in school, in work, in economy. Just accept the basic of the world : injustice. Does some players having easier way ruin your own journey ? Are you mad because you couldn't abuse it yourself ? I don't like cheaters/abusers too. But there is no good solution about it. Last edited by MykroPsykoz#6286 on Sep 8, 2025, 5:39:24 PM

Early access is the wild west. We expect this to happen, and global corrections to remove items wouldn't be feasible or necessary. There should be safeguards in place and actions taken against accounts that repetitively abuse exploits, but until the mechanics are stated to be an exploit, then it's just how things work.

" if you think this is EA thing then poe1 is still in the EA but this measure. btw what was the 'crafting method'? i don't want to watch 'content' but this got me curious lol, just a quick tl;dr version would suffice |

" You could reroll if you fail your desecrate after you see the fail, instead of use preventively. So basically you had a free use of the crafting tool instead of use it. (if i followed the case, maybe there is something else, i also heard about orb duplication - maybe it's what people call orb dup) btw the original poster speak about something happening often in poe1, so it's not just an EA thing, but a late bugfix after abuse thing. "Which is back to my earlier point of who cares what winds up in Standard league? I can't imagine playing Standard instead of the current League. And if I did, why would I care that there are crazy things that exist there? It's not like I care if you have one and sell it for a billion Divs. It doesn't matter to me what YOU have. " ah, this kinda sounds like that new omen use. that you can see the result. and yeah in poe1 among other things ppl were 'crafting deterministically' by crashing instances and afaik those items never got removed lol- and that was clearly abuse, some accounts got banned but that's minor slap on the wrist since they still kept the items/currency on main accounts |
