Destroyed my enthusiasm ..
Level 86, don't care one bit about completing the last 2. I've only ever completed the third one last league. Having to read up on the poison trap drained all my desire to "learn" them. Let them burn for all I care

trust you arent alone, and guess what, all that time you wasted? you didn't have to do it, you can join someone elses trial after they've started it, wait till they get to boss, walk into trial, wait ijn the room before boss, dude kills boss will say come through, and boom theres an altar you can interact with, I was level 80 using insta aftershocks, made it to third boss and died while boss had 1/8th of its hp, was so frustrated, but respecced and did it again realized theres an honor cap on third ascend, so theres a point where defense doesnt matter and you can spec straight into DPS, so icnreased my dps and killed third floor, then saw a player in chat OFFERING FINAL ASCEND FOR FREE, usually players will offer this in trade chat for divine orbs or like 50-100 exalt, this dude offered for free, teleport to his trial, waited outside, he told me to come in, wait at this map thing, then said come through, saw animation of final boss dying and a portal opened up, walked through and boom final 2 points, the fact YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANY OF THIS, IS WHAT FRUSTRATES ME EVERY SEASON, MELEE IS AT THE BIGGEST DISADVANTAGE, THEY NEED TO FIGURE SOMETHING OUT, certain classes can just insta wipe it all and farm trials of sekehamas like its the easiest thing in the world, then melee struggles to hell and back, with this piece of content, I don't know what they could do to balance it besides making spells and projectiles do less to enemies vs melee but that would never happen.

I designed this ascendancy system to give you more choice over the old labyrinth in PoE1, someone at GGG added all the extra frustrating elements.
Truly if anyone here wants to know the cheat-code i'll tell you, Simply buy relics with Merchant choices and then stack movement speed and other honor/defensive stuff on the other mod. You want at least 9-18 extra merchant choices depending on your build. Strategy: Seek water above all else at first you're trying to save up enough to buy (reduced merchant prices) and a (scrying crystal to see ahead further) once you have these you should seek increased movement speed, increased damage and any defensive boons you can. By the time you reach the 3rd and 4th floor you should have most of your buffs already and will be buying mostly rare boons. Innocence forgives you Last edited by SilentSymphony#3358 on Sep 8, 2025, 3:49:53 PM

" I don't wanna pay for a carry, it feels like going into a gym to learn bodybuilding and then someone comes out of no where and goes "you don't have to work out, here just take ozempic" thats how i see that anyways. I'd rather just wait for everything to not be so...beta i guess. |

" Not singling you out for this specifically, but I just don't get this mentality. If you're playing trade league and you're already trading for gear you didn't find/craft yourself, why not just pay someone for a carry to avoid doing a thing in a video game you don't enjoy? But yeah, a third way to ascend is coming so maybe more people will like whatever that is. But they probably won't. I wasn't playing PoE1 when they introduced labyrinth, I wonder if everyone complained so loudly about that as well. | |
People complained A LOT about the lab in PoE 1. GGG did not budge, they did offer some concessions but this is it. Ascension is meant to be painful and unfun, no two ways about it.
