Destroyed my enthusiasm ..

Going into a lvl 65 Trail of Sekhemas for my third ascendancy at 79 and still failing to the trial from losing honor has pretty much killed the fun I was having building my character up.

Both trials are bad ways to gate ascension points imo. I made a thread about trials of chaos yesterday on this. They are just way too infuriating for this. Tone down that dang bird. It is doing absurd damage going through about 8k ES/HP just for the third ascension!
I've found sehkemas to be 100x easier now with sprint.
the trials are great content to have in the game however they are a poor ascension method
I struggled a lot on my first character.
Somehow i got it one day and made other characters etc...

It get a lot easier. I now always get it first try even when i have pretty bad gear/build.

I know it's tedious because it's long so when you fail it's a lot of time to invest again but i'm sure you'll get use to it and it'll become a formality.

You're not supporting because you're unable to do them?

Well, as all the content of poe 1 & 2, everything is a DPS check. It's not that hard if you got a solid build, but if you play "as you feel", you meet walls.

Trial of chaos is easier. Specially before the 4th ascendency.
oh i did them, not this league cause i don't feel like grinding it out again, but i got 3 points, and on the 4th point I said "fuck this" cause i didn't know you had to get 3 sharts and then fight Johnathan, i mean the trail master.

I absolutely loath both trails of RNG.

As a fundamental i don't like traps in ARPGs, i don't like enemies dropping exploding bs when they die, and i hate pure RNG when its something important. I have not being enjoying this "dark souls" feeling they seem to be going for. it doesn't work like that in an arpg and i definitely don't feel the same satifaction for overcoming it. You can beat dark souls bosses with a trash weapon and no gear, but you can't really say the same for any ARPG. CAUSE THEY DON"T WORK THE SAME

i love PoE and i get that PoE2 isn't finished but Johnathan has made some clear comments about the direction he wants to go with the game, and thats cool, its his choice, but im not having fun, and for that, im not going to pay(more than i already have)

I think that's fair. me posting about it may help them decide if they wanna please the ruthless enjoyers (which seems to be what john is going for) or ease it up for people like me who don't and can't spend all day on the game. It worked for D2 cause they didn't have seasons so you could work on a character for years which is what im betting these old folks are trying to nostalgia replicate , but it doesn't work with seasons.

It the same mistake blizzard made when they started. they made a bunch of awesome content that only .1% saw cause it was too difficult to get into. I think they should just make a ruthless mode in PoE2. works in poe1. *shrug* The world gives me enough stress, i don't want to play a video game to get more ya know.
I do not like this trial either, and I feel the honor mechanic is too harsh. Granted, with sprint / rhoa it was a little easier, but as soon as I got to the third portion I got hit twice by a fire dot and was toast....it's a little too harsh of an honor penalty imo.
