This is wierd, there is just a pop up with the statement, that the driver is outdated. They not force you to update the driver. I am still using the driver from december 2024 (does not remember the ver.) and I don't have any black screen you are talking about. 4090 nvidia card

I had the same problem: the game freezes, black screen, gears appear, and then after 10 seconds everything is over. The map has been reset, but it continues exactly where you left off, including the battle, for example.

After switching to Vulkan, I didn't even have the problem anymore.

The drivers are 581.15 from Nvidia.

Keep monitoring the situation and let us know if you ever experience it again with Vulkan. It might be a separate issue that is being fixed with Vulkan, but clearly it's not fixing the issue I and others are experiencing. And, as Jonathan said, the "fix" was to roll back your nVidia drivers to the version that did not crash (566.36).

And a reminder, Vulkan uses nVidia drivers too.

Switching to Vulkan didn't help me any, Its sad that I am having to play on my Xbox when my pc is twice as good as my Xbox. I've got no issues whatsoever on my Xbox though. You would think that this issue would be top priority we don't need leagues in a beta we need game breaking bugs squashed

That's interesting that it doesn't happen on the Xbox, since I'm pretty sure that it also uses nVidia drivers. Maybe that's because the xbox drivers are fixed at the old version that didn't crash?
