Temporal Chains and Chilling Ground are on 80% of maps

Once you get both of them in a map you'll beg for forgiveness
I don't know what the % is but the proportion of maps that have either MS debuff on them is bad enough that I've specced on the passive tree to specifically mitigate against them, and all my charms are focused on mitigating them too.

I am not just avoiding those maps because way stone sustain is so weak, even though I've got every % way stone drop node on the atlas passive possible, and only run t15/16 w/ one 1 or 2 portals I have an over flow of a whopping 5 spare t15s at any one time.

These MS debuffs suck. It doesn't feel good wasting so much of my build just on "OK you can walk at a reasonable speed"

At a minimum chilled should be nerfted to 20% from 30, and chains duration cut in half.
Darth said they have a full room of playtesters for this game. Either they are underpayed or they straight up refuse to work since I don't believe they truly play tested this. I get chilled ground and or temporal chains on 75% of my maps. I straight up trash them or just outright sell them. These maps add nothing to the game other than making me want to stop playing.

You literally die cuz you can't cast/attack, you can't run away or dodge anything and this combined with the lags make it unplayable.

1)Temporal Chains:
-just annoying on 50% of the terrains.
-disgusting on other 50%

2) Chilled Ground:
-disgusting on any terrains.

3) Temporal Chains + Chilled Ground
-better not to start this waystone.

I don't know who are these playtesters, maybe they were hired from some BDSM communities.

The slowing effect is far too potent.


I usually get hit by Temporal Chains because I'm focusing on combat or simply don't see the curse effect because of my own curses and effects on top of it. It has come to a point that I simply require Warding Potions notable on every amulet I use.

Chill on the other hand... I mean, what am I supposed to do when it covers 80% of all terrain? I feel like I'm chilled every 2-steps. I can't avoid it. It's not like a patch on the ground you can just walk around, no, it's everywhere. And on SSF, how do I mitigate it? I'm lvl91 and I don't think I've seen a slow reduction affix on a single piece of gear. It feels like torture playing those maps and I have sooo many that I simply have to run them.

Anyway, I think that these slowing effects should be in the game because it changes how you play, however I would like to see reduced effect of these slows, at least for Chill and to spread out the patches of Chill far more so we can walk between them and try to avoid them at least on non-linear maps.
Hahahaha! I figured it couldn't be that I was just unlucky. I just alch'd 7 maps and 5 of them had either chilled ground, or temp chains. I only payed attention after I realized I've been constantly being slowed in all of my endgame maps. There's an unhealthy amount of slowing mechanics.

I love this franchise, but sometimes they go overboard. They're making too many build "options" near-mandatory. I'm gonna need a break soon.

They just feel broken to me, like the fact it even slows attack speed is just too much, and the reduce slow passives don't feel like they do anything either. I genuinely wonder if the devs actually playtest any of this because I can guarantee most players would probably just delete the waystones because of how annoying and unfun these mods are.

GGG, I honestly can’t believe you actually tested these two debuffs in active late-game mapping. I’m completely serious when I say that about 80% of my maps end up with either Temporal Chains or Chilling Ground, and it’s absolutely miserable. Who on your team thought it was a good idea to make characters feel even more sluggish, unresponsive, clunky, and awkward than they already do?

Sometimes it doesn’t even feel like I’m playing a hero in Path of Exile 2 — it feels like I’m playing myself struggling through this game. And on maps with Temporal Chains or Chilling Ground, it’s like I suddenly start playing as my 92-year-old grandmother (may she live a long life).

Characters in PoE2 are ALREADY slow, stiff, clumsy, and heavy — why make it worse? Let’s be honest here: people just don’t run maps with these mods, and if they have no choice, running them without swearing is simply impossible.

Why not just remove this garbage from the game and forget about it? It doesn’t add difficulty — it only adds frustration. When casting a spell feels like you have to spend three seconds winding up with a damned wand, that’s not challenge, that’s torture. Seriously, who’s the genius that decided this was “fun and engaging”? Let them play nothing but these maps for a couple of days and see how it feels on their own skin.

REMOVE THINGS FROM THE GAME THAT MOCK THE PLAYERS INSTEAD OF MAKING THE GAME MORE CHALLENGING AND INTERESTING.


You want to know the even more hilarious part? I tested with boots that have cannot be slowed (Wanderlust) mod and without the boots and here is what i found. The curse circles without the boots on (Wanderlust) will almost 100% of the time spawn directly on you. When I put the boots on the circle will majority of the time never spawn under my character. So they deliberately programed it with if immune to slow ignore player but if not player is to take it up the rear.

GGG is only here to torture us turn the game into a job and remove all fun from the game. You want to screen clear pffft no thx we at GGG think you should be slowed by frozen ground and cursed by temp chains 100% of the time you are mapping.

Go run the exploited temple that doesnt have this bullshit.
The problem is not the combination between them. The real problem is that ground effects should affect both players and monsters. Then everything will be balanced. Modifiers in map should be the play style of everyone's being in the map ( including bosses ).
