Is there a way to mitigate damage from Abyss's DoT puddle?

Ground degen zones with massive dps are the staple of poe1 "difficulty" for years, GGG actually showed great restraint by not spamming them all over poe2 for the whooping 9 months:)
Always a pleasure seeing uber boss standing in degen puddle and shooting your melee character. |

Lmao, just released patch notes.
" "Reduced" implies a small change so likely a 5% reduction. Instead of 1 second death it will be 1.05 second death. If it was more they would have said other keywords like significantly or massively or given a specific percentage. |

" What? More DoT puddles? Why? I have no issues with them on my melee hybrid Amazon, but I don't see the benefit of having more other than to annoy and have more complainers--unless this is where you are going with? Last edited by BigBoom9240#8803 on Sep 8, 2025, 9:29:43 AM

I'm not really understanding how am I suppose to deal with this in melee. You cannot really get close to get charges as a monk, and if a rare is not melee, you cannot pull it out of the puddle either. It's also constantly teleporting, even when stunned. Puddle is not even its main attack, but it destroys your ES and HP in a matter of seconds.

They need to make it like the reworked ignite ground, you have an indicator of how long you have stood on the dot effect before it starting to deal dmg to you. This atleast give players time to react, also they need to make the on death ground effect more clear. Like whose idea to make every abyss on death effect to be green with green mobs and among a huge green fissure.
