Why Punish Solo Players I think thats Horses**t

Like the title Implies
Why Punish Solo players by lowering the loot quantity
Its completely moronic
Either lower the Group quantity to be on par with solo or increase solo to be on par with group

My 2 cents:

There should be some advantage for group play, there has to be. It would not be good if it would be a disadvantage to play in a party. But the base loot for solo should be better (for meaningful loot) and the scaling for group play and for a lot of quantity/rarity should be tuned down a lot(diminishing returns ftw). The first 50% quant, 50% curreny should be significantly more impactfull than more % and so on.

Right now alch and go on t16 where you click maps with 60-80% quant are not rewarding enough. It is the base game and should be somewhat rewarding. But group play in juiced t16,5/t17 or even solo play with insanely risky mods that only certain builds (that not everybody wants to roll, lol @ ES stacker meta) can play are way to rewarding.

Not everything has to scale into oblivion. If that would be changed, the base values could be higher again without scaling on the top end being totally broken.

As it is atm just feels like your being punished for playing solo
I dont enjoy groups I love the challenge of solo but it just sucks solo enjoyers are punished

I agree with your points completely

Sounds logical to me.

Prioritizing group play over solo play is one substantial part of why I started playing POE over D3 initially. Blizzard started with solo play being slightly stronger than grouping, then proceeded to add more and more mechanics that required you to be grouped to be efficient, or in some cases use functionality at all, like trading. Since POE has a complete SSF mode, it is less of a problem, but it would still be nice able to play in trade league and not have to overcome a massive economic disadvantage. The gap seems to be getting fairly wide over the past few years.

Ideally, I see no reason why either group or solo play should put anyone at a disadvantage. You should be able to play how you like without needing to worry about being at a disadvantage. In practice, that is very difficult to balance, but I think that should the starting point that they should be trying to achieve parity.

What i would like is if they keep the increased drops for group but give solo players a %20 base Item rarity
There is no penalty or punishment for playing solo, it is a choice.
There is a bonus for party play, that is also a choice.
If you don't enjoy groups, that is your choice.
~ I play slowly.

There is a choice so it doesn't need to be balanced?

Terrible logic. Doesn't make sense for any aspect of ARPG's.

Particularly when solo players have no choice of competing in the same economy as group players, as the gap becomes extremely wide. That is not a choice, that is solo players being forced to play in groups so they are not gimped.

Seriously Just remove the bonus
You already benefit in a group because it makes the game way easier
If anything it should be the other way around and solo players should get the bonus

I don't really have much thought around this particular topic, but I also run 100% of my maps solo and don't hit any issues that bother me.

That being said, I think you can appreciate the developer creating incentives around playing the game a certain way since in this particular post you expressed an opinion about it being more understandable to get a bonus for solo players -- the way that you prefer to play. It just so happens that GGG chose to create incentives around group play rather than your way of playing.
Thanks for all the fish!
