Aurelian(Digsite Boss)

I have a love/hate with this boss. His kamehameha whip attack has a T H I C C area and sometimes he's in a corner and it makes it hard to avoid. I like the mechanics but sometimes it feels like they're a BIT too hard to do if your build isn't STACKED (ms... and LAYERS of damage mitigation).
But yeah, learn the mechanics (I learned em all on my own w/o even having to put any big boy pants on.) And build into your defenses. Or just one-shot everything so you never have to use your brain in an action game. Don't get lost by being so focused on the target that you forget to enjoy your surroundings.

Developers have decided that the fighting model against bosses is: you know the mechanic and avoid it 100% or you die. There's also another option - you kill the boss before any mechanic. However devs seem not to like the last option, and will probably do stuff to remove it completely.
Defenses do not matter against bosses at all in this game, unless you can pull off an "immortal" build. |

" It's hard to say the decision is marked with any smarts. |

This is my number 1 problem with bossing rn and why I've quit this season, I find half the bosses to be jokes like you can insta kill them in seconds melt away their hp bars no problemo
Others like Aurelian which I've even made a forum post about, are just unfair and fights are just messes not enough indicators, what do I mean by this? Black crow for instance, Has 3 seperate phases... you knock him down to 3/4's he becomes invulnerable and runs to another part of arena, get him down to 1/2 and he'll enter his third phase where he becomes invulnerable yet again untill running to another part of arena and becoming vulnerable again, has different attack patterns for each phase, the more you do him the more you do these phases and learn attacks Yet with the way builds are currently going, most builds aims are to kill bosses as fast as possible, you get your build to a point where you out dps the boss and "melt" it, for bosses that don't have set phases at different portions of hp, like for example Tierney, The Hateful, no phases no bs, just an hp bar, and set attacks, dodge those set attacks, damage him, he dies, no invulnerability no bs. When you only do the boss once during the campaign, that's not enough to get these patterns locked in our heads, legit have to sacrifice all revives to a boss just to learn what it can and can't do rather then having it be a complete guessing game, and theres still always a level of RNG to what phase attack the boss will use next, no set attack patterns like attack 1 first, attack 2 second, attack 3 third, then back to 1, 1-2-3 repeat, bosses are more like 3-3-2-1-3-2-2-1, next time you fight it might be 2-1-1-1-2-1-2-3-1, no predictability Other problem I find is WHAT AM I SUPPOST TO DO? Normally in most MMO's and similar games I play with like bosses and event bosses who say have a slam, A big bright indicator will appear where that slams going to appear letting the players KNOW WHERE TO AVOID, not guess, During certain insta kill portions of boss fights clear indicators like symbols will appear over the bosses head letting me quickly piece together things, I find there to be a lack of indication |

" How can you one shot a boss that goes invulnerable at end and makes you wait out some insta kill phases??? Look at Tierney the Hateful, can insta kill him no problem, does he go invulnerable at last bit of hp? nope, he stands there, all of these broken bosses just need to be removed from map pool, or only have them appear through tablets maybe, too much of a disconnect between different bosses, half are jokes half will 1 shot regardless of defences, Its not about oh you just don't build well enough, It's not possible to build a character when its not possible to progress in the endgame... Trade league ya just your gear from someone else have everyone else do your work and then the games playable, What about SSF? how tf can anyone make any decent progress in SSF? I was debating SSF but this recent update + no increase to drops in SSF killed all appeal immediately |
