How to ascend to abyssal lich. I got the invitation, beat the boss, now what?

As the title says, I think I missed something. The information is vague and I spent all my currency making this happen. After a very difficult boss fight that my build struggled with I don't see any further option to take my lich to an abyssal lich as was directed in the wiki
I have acquired an invitation and beat the boss I am already ascended as a lich there is nothing to interact with at all the the arena after killing the boss what am I missing? Last bumped on Sep 13, 2025, 1:30:27 AM

take the item to abyssal well, put it in and jump down

I am not sure, but when changing other Ascendancies you have to redo the Trial for however many number of points you have - if you have 8 Ascendancy points, you have to do the last trial that you did to get points 7&8. After beating the trial you talk to Balbala or whatever her name is, or the other guy in the other trial, you refund your Ascendancy points (costs about 160k gold), then you click the Ascendancy statue and you're able to switch your Ascenandcy.
That is the process to change on other characters, for Abyssal Lich I am not sure. You might want to check out google and such for further information. |

" Yes, I was completely wrong. Apparently you take the Invitation to the Well of Souls, toss it in and you jump down into the Abyss. My apologies >.< |

Did that step exactly how you explained, but it didn't seem to do anything even after I beat the boss

does the vessel explicitly need to be killed solo?

I’m having this same issue I beat the boss once at 64 lich then assumed I was too low level now I just beat the boss at 86 and it’s just loot and nothing to ascend.

When you take the invitation to the well, before you jump down maybe you need to unspec all your ascendancy points first?
Same deal as when you want to change ascendancy for any other classes, you gotta unspec all points before being able to switch. (Just guessing though!) Worst case scenario, if it doesn't work then you just put your passives back in and fight the boss again? |
