I get it. You need to be introduced into the game and level up somehow. But why can't I both play the campaign and do low level dungeons in the meantime? What is up with all the games having vertical progression and forcing people to do everything but play the game the way they like?
I got through A4 on my first SSF playthrough, looking forward to running my first "maps" or dungeons or something and now I see "interlude" act.
Interlude to what? To me being able to finally play the game? Why? What the fuck is wrong with games these days? Why does everything have to be a chore?
I am going back to Death Stranding 2...
(also I paid for the game before some of you trolls ask me about free weekend)

There's barely any difference between maps and the campaign starting in Act2.
The game starts at level1.
I'm unsure what your complaint is, sounds like a mindset thing.

This exactly. Starting act 4 and it feels like mapping already. Kill some trash, open a strongbox or whatever, kill a boss. There you go.
Especially ironic since 90% of people hit maps then complain about the tower system. Like, what do you want?

The endgame because they don't have acts 5 and 6 yet.

If the game feels like a chore to you, then maybe it's not for you.

You didn't answer my main and only question. Why can't I play maps sooner? Would it really break the game if I could have even a single map available tu run after act 3? Why not give players options to try different content?
You guys are crazy to think that "casual" players (by casual I mean people who are new to poe) will stick around long enough to find out what maps, abyss, towers, or whatever the fuck you are talking about is.

I spent 20-30 hours playing the game. But I still don't know what towers are.
More importantly all of you conveniently avoided my only question. Would it break the game if you gave players "maps" sooner so there is alternative to gearing up / levelling to running campaign maps?

I stopped playing for now. I would love to see what all the POE hype is about but the game is doing everything it can to prevent me from playing it. "interlude" act must be trolling. Surely no one would add meaningless filler content into their own game and literally call it "a filler", right? Right?

Well, the interludes are there as a temporary filler for acts 5 and 6... from my understanding. Probably to keep us adjusted to a time frame for the campaign.
I don't mind them personally, still wish they'd nerf the sizes of the maps throughout the campaign... they're a bit too much.
I got the sauce.
POE1 & 2 enjoyer.

Prior to this patch you had to play through the campaign twice. In this patch they added a fourth act and the interludes because act 5 and 6 are not done yet and obviously you can't just play through the campaign twice now to get 6 acts.

you can't run maps yet because maps are end game and you are not at the end yet. Will Death Stranding 2 let you fight the final boss and watch the final cinematics half way through your playthrough because you just want to?
