Incinerate 'Fuel' Mechanic

Friend just unlocked her favorite spell and sees its gated by fuel and difficult to generate, It just doesn't feel easily useable at all now after unlocking it? Her most expensive mana spell is her curse at 50% of her max basically, and it takes 8 casts to fill the bar. I can't even find a support gem that helps generate it.

GGG might've made a mistake here? or is there some way to make it infinite again?

Does Efficiency support at least cut the Fuel usage?
Ignite chronomancer is still functional, on level 93 at least. Not instaclear like lightning skills, but still one-cast-clear. Incinerate is now my boss/rare killer, while solar orb + living bomb + ignite proliferation are the main loop, with occasional flameblast for rituals and such.

Besides fire/ignite damage, focused on skill duration, aoe radius, and blasphemy temp chains + ele weakness. Refilling fuel bar is easy from living bomb spam, could've used incinerate on normal mobs too, but too much piano play, white mobs die just fine without it.

Don't think so

We're still fairly early (Act 3) and like I said filling the fuel quickly has been an issue. For casual use what would be the best way to make it usable for her as soon as possible? you say Living bomb spam. But like, does she need to focus on getting a big mana pool through passive tree/gear and increase the mana costs somehow? The only thing I could think of using was a combination of that and Mana flare, but that will need a lot of crit to start working reliably.

Fuel gain rate is wonky, it says 10ms per mana on gem level 9, 8ms on level 14, 5ms on level 18+. I'd say early game mana costs are too low to sustain it, and not worth to artificially bloat your mana pool for this one spell. You can level with other sources of ignite.

Right now I have 1100 mana, 120 mana regen (on sheet), and new "efficient casting" passive. No other mana investment on tree. Lvl 25 living bomb costs 140 mana, and as said above, incinerate is fairly available to cast.

Edit: living bomb gem is still underleveled and 4-link, so it will cost more mana soon

Can you check the exact amount of casts and how many seconds it takes you to reach a full bar from 0? She -REALLY- likes Incinerate

ah! and i read this right after i gave up on my fire witch. any definitive reason you went for chrono? is it the defensive aspects of time stop or the IAS just scales so much better for ignite build? i want to play witch due to her lines so not sure if i want to just jump on a sorc now.

edit: oh and so i contribute a bit: when my fire witch started using incinerate the fuel was very easily replenished with curse spam (very odd loop, but it was faster than dealing with mana actually :/) not sure why your friend is having such problems esp since she already knows this strat...

If the goal is to make incinerate self-sustaining no matter the cost, try COI with fireball or firestorm to rapidly drain mana, and "2% mana on kill" jewels + mana remnants + every bit of mana regen on gear to refill it. Didn't suggest it originally because GGG in their infinite wisdom "buffed" spirit cost from 60 to 100 which is overprice considering insane mana cost. It will be a trip back to 0.2 when casters were always at 0 mana, but you'll have your flamethrower:)

Edit: guess you can manipulate COI supports to slow down energy generation and tune it exactly to your fuel spending. I used COI in 0.2, but goal was dps back then, not specific passive mana drain value.

Went for chrono because of another defense layer: aura temp chains buffed with aoe radius, slow-enhancing support gems and tree nodes, combined with "slowed in your presence" ascendancy node. Monsters are sitting ducks which compensates the delay my DoT needs to kick in. Basically you cannot be swarmed unless you act like sitting duck yourself.
