0.3 is a huge improvement
There's a lot of negativity going around but most of it is unwarranted; this patch overall is a huge win for PoE2 (as someone who was losing a bit of faith after 0.2)
I think it's important to focus on the positives and give constructive feedback. Sprint is absolutely fantastic and changes the game so much for the better. I'm excited to see what else can be built into the mechanic; abilities, supports, passives, etc. Act 4 is extremely cool. The variety of different biomes keeps the content exciting and the new enemies and bosses are fantastic. The interludes were surprisingly enjoyable with some very memorable boss fights. The ability balancing continues to improve and I'm excited to try out some more janky builds. I'm currently running in red maps with a build heavily utilizing pin and it's nice to see it fairing pretty well. Hopefully we continue to see interaction and support for mechanics like blind, pin, maim, enfeeble, hobble, daze, etc. These are fun mechanics that create interesting gameplay. The passive tree is in a much better place, although there's still a lot of passives that will just never be very useful. Adding some kind of offensive or added utility component to many of these, like in the case of flask nodes, could see them getting a little more usage. Maybe additional abilities and supports that interact with flasks will merit the use of these passives. Huge fan of the new item bases/names and art. Great job GGG! I agree. I am enjoying 0.3.
We are getting the game in small steps and sometimes don't appreciate the quality of the game overall but by the time full release rolls around and all the acts and classes are finished, this will be an incredibly impressive free-to -play game for a player seeing it all fresh from the beginning. On full release, throw in $30 bucks to get quality of life stash tabs and this will be a great value compared to like Diablo 4 or any top tier game that can easily run you $100 plus with expansions and DLCs. I like top-down ARPGs and this is the best so I will be playing 1000's of hours for hopefully the next 10 years. |

I played for like 2-3 weeks when EA released and yeah the changes are great. Like crafting is viable now, pacing is better, boss difficulty is tuned for what they should be during the campaign, not having to run the campaign twice is great. The fucking trade merchant!!! The world for act 4 is great with how it interacts with you. Wasn't really expecting a boat to kill me but it was a nice touch along with the one island where the waves come in and out and it actually slows you while in the water those little details add alot to a game. Maybe it's cause it's been awhile but all around everything feels like it's in a better place.

Abyss in the early campaign is a lot of help. Some of the bosses are weird if you don't trivialise the fights, but good changes - let em cook more. Perhaps somewhere in 12-18 months we'll have a game that is playable on all characters and most skills.

" They're not saying it's flawless, they're saying it's a good improvement. I don't think anybody is claiming all classes are perfectly balanced and need no more work. |

I don't play Deadeye or Summoner and I think this patch is good. In fact, I don't know how to play those even.

" Async trading is a big win to me. Also squashing / nerfing / fixing bugs with Huntress was also a win. Now I can play it properly without being accused of using meta (though when I played it in 0.2 I wasn't even aware it's meta and not even following the supposedly meta build for Huntress) |

I agree. My experience with 0.3 is much better than 0.2.
I have played Infernalist each season minions are in a good spot currently. Still had to know the boss mechanics without spending 5+ minutes. Loot is noticeably better and the new trade system removed a lot of the pain points associated with trading. Not having to repeat the same 3 acts helped the campaign flow. |

You sound like a Stockholm victim trying to explain that yes your kidnaped but its not so bad because after 6 months they started throwing you less moldy food and occasionally let you shower between beatings.
This game is in a horrible place , it feels terrible to play even on a meta skill. I have never had even a single moment in PoE2 when i was like wow that felt fun and engaging , it just feels like a slog an unrewarding slog at that given the boring uninspired loot and the atrocious crafting. I suppose for you walking around with lead boots on at a snails pace and dodge rolling all day in act fights because you cant even move fast enough to get out of the way of anything any other way and the attacks are constant is enjoyable but to me roll roll roll , move out of obvious attack , roll roll roll , one hit , repeat for 15 mins to clear a boss and any mistake start over is a giant middle finger to my time and in return GGG can have the same from me. |
