Gating async trade behind Act 4 is stupid

Stupid to disable async trade for players just starting out. Ability to trade for early items to make campaign smoother is important. And don't say "you can use the old system." Screw that. Async trade obviously should be available in Act 1.

No need to be rude, but I second the feeling. I fully intended to skip 0.3 and came back specifically because of trading. It's sad to not only be prevented from selling out a good find but also to not be able to buy what you see listed.

I disagree. Players should at least "play" the game for the first time without relying from trades. I would go further that partying should not even be allowed for your first char (but pretty sure a lot of folks will hate me for that).

But that's just me. Not everyone is like ME and not everyone is like YOU.

Only thing I can figure is that this is GGG just being super conservative in the roll out of async trade, and once they get some good usage (no bot problems etc), they will roll it out earlier.

In the meantime I’m gonna go write some scripts to have Claude Code search the in-person vs async trade listings looking for deals. There is money to be made shuttling between the two systems I bet.

Gold price should be lower for early trades, item level <20 2K gold, 20-40 4K gold etc. Access to the trader should be in in Act 2 at the latest. By then I had plenty of trade currency (exhaults at that time). As mentioned I'm not playing SSF so why hide the merchant?

I can understand not being able to sell things until you find the NPC (Which should just be a permanent thing even between leagues once you've found her once) but the fact that you can't even buy things from people using it until you find her is just flat out stupid.

i second that , the frustration when you find a good item for your char and then can't get it because i'm not allowed to trade like that before act 4 is silly.

Selling i can understand but i can already go to other peoples hideout right away

It’s more than just stupid. GGG wants to be the fun-police. They wanna dictate to players what they should & shouldn’t enjoy and how they should be spending their time playing the game.
If players want to engage with trading earlier, later or not at all -> JUST LET THEM DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES!!!

This wouldn't be as big a deal if you could still get the player's name and politely whisper them asking "Hey i'm not cool enough to have the market yet can i still buy this item?"

But for some reason that feature is completely hidden and there's no way to message them ingame to buy an async item non-asynchronously. Perhaps to avoid the gold fees?
