Zolin & Zelina Bosses undoable with minions due to leech

these two bosses, jesus christ.

playing a hybrid caster-summoner using chaos DoT, burning/exploding skeletons, skeleton clerics, and bone constructs from unearth.

i killed the sister first by disabling all my minions and kiting her with chaos spells. i only re-enabled them once she was downed. the brother on his own, however, will aggressively leech life from his sister even when she's downed already.

once the sister is down, the brother becomes a DPS check. can you kill him faster than he can regen from his sister?

i was stumped at first but noticed that he tends to leech less often if you stand right in his face instead of standing away from him. maybe it has something to do with him using more melee attacks instead of spells?

i only learned this when i was about to give up. i wanted him to just kill me but he does so little damage that he can't pierce through my shield regen. that's when i noticed that he doesn't do his leech attack as often while i was standing in front of him.

It was tough with minions but I got through it in probably 5 tries using Vaal guards and a little of the chaos DOT abilities.

You HAVE to make your minions focus on one at a time though, try and separate them, use the minion command to steer your minions towards one, be patient and take as few hits as possible because you’re going to be there a while…

That being said I was in soft core trade league and had bought a bit of +minion skill gear at that point. I can certainly see the case where this would be near impossible with a pure minion build in SSF, hardcore, or heaven forbid hardcore SSF.

Holy... this is one annoying as fight. Stiffing minion builds yet again, sigh.

Edit: Switched to frozen mandibles and did it first go, with just them out and a skelly for the pain offering. Dumb either way.

That was an extremely unpleasant experience.

Hopefully someone will read this and not go through what I did.

Quick explanation of this boss.

There are two of them. one of them is melee, she does melee attacks and short-range bleed attacks and will follow you until she dies. The other is ranged and will regularly summon those fire lasers from the top of the room. In phase 1 the ranged boss will heal the melee boss. In phase 2 he will heal himself.

There is a bug in this fight where the bosses leech life off your minions. Because of this bug you cannot use ANY minions in phase 1.

Strategy (as a witch):

Phase1: Dismiss all your minions, skeletons, hounds etc. Start the fight by attacking only the ranged boss. This may take a while, and you'll have enough time to practice dodging melee attacks and the lasers. I'll explain about gear in the end. When the health of the ranged boss to zero, the melee one will die. The ranged boss will have full health.

Phase2: Resummon your minions. Do this after you dodge the lasers, he barely does any damage, so you have time to use go through the menus and resummon them. At this point it becomes a dps race because he will still heal himself off the other dead boss.

Tips:
Managing health in phase1 is important. Managing mana in phase 2 is important. Use minion command abilities, pain offering, withering and anything you can to do burst damage. You don't want to get to 10% and realize you're out of mana only for boss to heal 30% back.

Lasers will kill you if they hit you. They are easy to dodge, generally just stay at the far end of the room and you'll have plenty of time to get of out their way. Ranged boss will also telegraph and animate when he calls them.

Melee boss can only hit you in melee range so you can generally just run away from her. However she does have a shred attack that bleeds, but she'll stop to cast it which shouldn't be a problem if you were already running away from her. Phase 1 is mostly just running, keeping your dots up on the other boss and dodging lasers. It's long and tedious but enough practice and you'll master it.

Gear: Resists don't matter. You want HP/ES and anything that reduces bleeding e.g "reduced duration of bleeding on you" or health/ES recovery & bleeding charm. Remember bleeding goes through ES so you still need HP or a vitality support gem.

When you reach P2, you'll have to deal with the boss healing himself and that's where it gets frustrating. All in all it took more than 10mins plus to kill the boss.

you could also just uninstall the game and not go through the aggravation

I play SSF, tried now 3 hours different things... I give up. I am happy if it is not steamroll - but please please.. that boss(es) needs fixing - out of gold and mats now.. i am tired going to bed. Guess i try another class

I just did them on my first try with minions. When Zelina casted her healing circle I simply ran away and sent my minions other side. I focused on Zelina and stand between her and Zolin all the time (my friend told me it's how to cancel their healing link or something like that). Both recieved some healing during fight but not enough to survive.

I chose this interlude as my first so i did them on lvl 60 with 6 Vaal Guards and Raging Spirits.

Why has this not been patched yet been stuck on this for over 3 hours,

Trying with minions with out minions

I should not have to change all my talents to go full single target for 1 boss fight.

Still no fix for this?!

Am I really going to have to grind the acts for hours/days to get overleveled enough to beat this boss?

I play minions aswell and had to ask a friend to kill them for me.

I had 0 Chance against them. I dealed about 500k dmg to Zelina and her life was only to 1/4 down.

My Friend who played deadeye, gave her 500k damage and she had only a third of her life left. GGG pls fix.

Took 10 or 12 tries (SSF) but managed to get through it with 3 vaal guards, 1 cleric and 1 storm mage. I had to turn off warriors and not cast unearth. I circled the room, commanded my minions to the centre of the room and avoided her attacks at all cost. The second guy pretty well fell over once she died.
