Any reson NOT to change your premium stashes to merchant?
I have like 50 quad tabs, and I think I had like 8 normal sized tabs. I ended up buying another round of 6 normal sized(while on sale) so I could upgrade most of them, but I'm still gonna keep just a few as just premium tabs for projects I'm working on, or keeping "maybe" jewels and items. I just like the smaller sized tabs for projects and the quad tabs as dump tabs. I know I could upgrade them all, but I don't wanna have to price stuff at a mirror so no one scoops it up.

Are you asking why anyone might do it, or why you might do it?
There are several valid reasons given in the thread that you've dismissed simply because they don't apply to you. Thanks for all the fish!

How do I know wich tabs are related to the ones I switch in POE 2 to merchant, in POE 1?
Do they simply dissapear in POE 1 when I do it? I have over 20 tabs in POE 1 all of them full of items... Just anyone... Tell me how do I do it without loosing a single item. |

" I think they would turn into remove only tabs in PoE 1. I could be wrong. |

I'm still not 100% convinced of this mechanism.
I live in Europe, and we're 6-9 hours after USA. Let's suppose someone like Fugbun posts a new video with a great build at 9:00 PM New York time. In Europe, that would be between 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM. We go to sleep with a nice ring, armor, or weapon perfect for that build, valued around 10-20 Chaos Orbs. The Americans who are still in the game rush to the merchant tabs and buy all these items. Then we wake up and find that all our items are in other merchant tabs for 5 divines. With the classic trading system, the next day I'd start getting a lot of whispers, letting me know that demand for that item is increasing and allowing me to set a reasonable price. I still don't what will be the outcome of this new trade system. That's a reason to not start converting premium stash tabs to merchant ones Last edited by Dalzhe#1363 on Aug 26, 2025, 9:17:13 PM

" This needs to be repeated in case the op missed it. Any converted tabs will be unavailable in SSF if you ever play that mode. I repeat they will be unavailable in SSF. Last edited by ExsiliumUltra#5541 on Aug 27, 2025, 10:08:43 AM

Biggest reason (from a PoE 1 perspective if this becomes a thing): you cannot use them as dump tabs in the same way.
Async dump tabs will never work. So the only merchant tabs you want would be for items you KNOW the price of ahead of time. But any item that you DON'T.....a regular premium tab is better. It's standard practice, especially early in a league, for prices to be in such significant flux that any offline trading that doesn't self-adjust pricing is putting you at severe risk of loss. And then of course, items that hold value that you may simply be less familiar with....you would have no way in-game of determining that value. I have 100 tab, a lot of them are quad or league/item type specific, but still have leftover premium tab
It depends you need space to store item, able to rename the tab and color it , but don't want all item available to trade or not Some items that too expensive to be mispriced, i would not place it in merchant tab This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee. " You know, at first I was gonna disagree, but I think you're right, at least for how I'll use them. I'm gonna go through the normal dump tab method, and then when it gets low enough in price I don't care if I lose a little money, I'll chuck them in the merchant tab at a low price. So I guess by doing it that way, I kinda do know the price(since nobody bought it yet) making you right. As long as the last price you put in is what is selected like they said, it should be pretty easy to make pseudo dump tabs with them. |
