All I ever wanted was PoE1 with better graphics and engine for more creative skills and mechanics. You can run between the legs of big things now, they just need to catch up with the amount of content and I'll be happy.

Decision to not outright kill PoE1 is both good and bad, they've shot themselves in the foot in terms of development, because all the backlash on PoE1 caused them to knee jerk and stress about fixing both games. But if you consider there are ancient MMOs that are still getting content and have a small playerbase while companies focus on their newer games, then there is a place for PoE1.

Their goal is to have PoE1 cover the gap between leagues in PoE2, probably in the shorter term (next 2 years) til things stabilize, IF they stabilize, and I certainly hope they do, and I hope all of you do too. Those who simply wish for GGG to die as an act of punishment for daring to try to make another game while leaving behind the old one obviously don't appreciate the playtime you've been given over the years and shouldn't be the target audience. At the same time the modern gamers who never cared about PoE until 2 shouldnt be the main target audience either, but will hopefully turn them into something closer to the core audience in the end.

That we listened to all the freaking awesome things Jon Rogers was saying prior to 0.1's release and we wanted the hell out of that, only for the game to fail to deliver in almost every conceivable way and just be a sad boring clone of a game everybody already had and clearly didn't care to switch off of?

You have no idea what I believe.

I play PoE at a slow, deliberate pace. A single map can take me an hour to complete, with a full clear and thorough, six-portal looting. I don't trade, so my gear is what many would consider sub-par, with resultant "zdps" combat. That way, every fight, even with packs of white mobs, is a little risky, and some of the tougher fights are drawn-out affairs full of suspense and drama, just the way I like it. I cannot fathom how anyone with DPS north of a few 100K can actually enjoy the game, especially not in the long term, with combat trivialized for all but "aspirational" content.

I will admit to being confused then, because it feels like every time I see you post, you're on the forefront of the wave of folks viciously castigating anyone who wants the promises Jonathan Rogers gave us prior to 0.1, and one of the ones accusing anyone who isn't a dedicated diehard Blessed Thousand ultra boomer zoomer of being a "tourist" who just hates PoE.
