Haha. I am not young 18 year old guy, and i can't click 1kk times per hour. Unfortunately my hands have limited resource.

Why it will never happen if so many people want it at past? This is only first page of google search of auto loot topics. Can link another few pages if you want.

Because it is bad for the game. Just like the exp penalty - players might not see or can't understand it but sometimes the developers know what's objectively better for the game.

Friction and having to loot manually is one of those things.

If my kid wants to eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, that doesn't somehow make it a good idea. Listening to the casual masses who have absolutely no clue what makes a good game is how you speedrun making your franchise into a joke.

I personally would like to see a form of it happening. The way it works in Torchlight seems good, then again, Torchlight has massive currency stacks, unlike our 10/20 so another approach might be better.
The forseeable negatives are IMO workaroundable.

Saying it won't come because it hasn't in however many years, is pointless.
We did not have gold, just got it last year.
No auction houses, even though some people have been begging forever, we are possibly getting asynchronous trading this league. It will affect the prices due to better item availability, that does not mean the positives do not outweigh the negatives. Hell, it will push down the prices of mediocre gear, so maybe pushing down the value of lower end currencies would be a good balance. Maybe im off on that though.
If a thing would fix a problem(s) (aging demographic of this game experiencing more and more carpal tunnel because of clicking) GGG will probably CONSIDER it over and over again like with the aformentioned updates, even if it ends up creating others, as you need to weigh the tradeoffs and the dev time it takes to implement.

I also dissagree on LE-s affix shard not feeling like loot, the most common ones don't but i crave the rarer, character specific ones. Like it is already in PoE aswell. Transmutations are not loot, neither are chance, or alch orbs, I will buy alts in their thousands for a few div when I need them. Would be a bit more SSF friendly to have more of them personally.

Few years ago GGG made more common currencies drop in higher quantity stacks, to adress this very issue. but many mechanics don't respect it, probably because of their implementation and/or spaghetti code.

Let's be honest here, people are requesting autoloot because they're too lazy to or incapable of adjust their lootfilter.

Every single issue mentioned in this thread can be solved right now by simply adjusting the lootfilter.
