Suggestion for armor and evasion defense balance
Life options are 0 for reaching ES amount of points. The whole passive tree should change in patch 0.3.0. Is not fair this nonexistent balance and players will no longer tolerate these conditions.
If new coming big patch brings no difference to balance players will leave permanently the game. Also Armour should significally be buffed and give more options in passive tree Last edited by teobibu#1278 on Jul 10, 2025, 6:17:02 PM

+1 I hate having to spec for HP with my gear. There are so many attributes that are reliant on gear rolls when in reality they should either be intrinsic or available on the passive tree (health, rare find, movement speed, etc).
Evasion is great when it works, but you still need a massive health pool in the late game otherwise you will forever be a glass cannon. I'm currently at 89% evasion, which is great when it works, but the 11% chance of taking a hit is wildly dangerous. Single hit from a normal mob can reduce my health pool by ~half. Given the how much you get swarmed in endgame, hitting the health flask has become part of my attack combo to ensure that I dont die from 1 or 2 hits while im getting the combo off. It's kinda dumb. Honestly if there was a better way to get another ~1000hp through something other than gear it would help immensely. |

Another option, Increase the amount of health str gives you. If they doubled it, that might help.
Could also increase the amount of health runes give you. Both of these changes would at least make non-ES builds not feel so bad. |

I wonder, if they add Vermilion rings, will the blood mage reach 30k life... Probably... 😂 See the problem right there? But in reality... In what universe an idiot with a crossbow is stronger than a dark adept? Wake up!
HC SSF. What else? Ruthless when? Last edited by vestolevs#5239 on Jul 11, 2025, 12:53:34 AM

" Devs can separate generic modifiers from specific class modifiers in Passive tree like done it with Huntress. For example Notable passive 20% increased Armour and Evasion rating 20% increased Stun Threshold Mercenary: +500 life So simple so innovative....and no problem to whole balance. Perhaps I just haven't built an ES character correctly - but my strongest and most "survivable" character this league in hcssf is by far an ar/ev hybrid witch hunter.
I say "survivable" because he's still alive and has been quite capable of taking some punishment (survived an endgame juiced-up monke slam - a few times lol), although there's been a few close calls - maybe it's just that the dice have rolled in my favour, but I also think that most people are sleeping on a few defensive aspects like the "Bulwark" node which makes you take 30% less damage while dodge rolling (You can still naturally roll an evade while dodge-rolling, so the downside of losing "always evade" doesn't mean much as long as you have an actual evasion rating to back it up). When you look at how you're likely to die as a crossbow char, it's almost always to some physical AoE that you narrowly fail to dodge-roll away from in time (at least for me it was), so Bulwark really takes the sting out of that scenario. Alternatively, my "tanky" warbringer with turtle charm and 10 stacks of jade, which is capable of AFKing in some scenarios, was in fact deleted by a large elemental AoE effect that sorcery ward would have shrugged off. My Evasion/ES Invoker felt like scissors gliding through paper right up until the moment he was instantly deleted by an AoE phys+ele slam. Seems like maybe I'm just not that great at playing characters where the primary AND secondary layer of their defense is "don't get hit" lol. |

Armour its very weak and there are no good options to boost it in passive tree.
It's impossible for a merch to reach 87% armour without sacrificing any othe invests. Fir warrior class is a little better but the luck of raising Life points underpowers the whole class. |

" Can you still 'dodge' beams/chaos barrages/or sakhema trial traps? i'm talking about those things you can doge roll under and not trigger. I will have to check this out because getting 30% less dmg taken is massive. my ranger with full stack of tail wind can take big hits as well, which saved me a bunch. but yeah my tankiest char is still smith with Armour and +max reses. i think ppl in trade have access to incredible gear due to age of the league making most things dirt cheap is what is skewing perceptions here. New eco starts and first week will be a reality check again, and bunch of crying about 'gear progression'. |

" Indeed there's no option to increase Life points and reaching not even in half of ES max. This balance between defences reveals also the percentage of low people playing classes like merch ana warrior. But i doubt Devs will do something because i heard there are only two of them they take over the case of balancing. It's not only the work over changing code but also the knowledge it needs to understand what is broken or unbalanced. I hope for fixing at least the already bugs mentioned in forum because bringing new content will bring chaos to unfixed issues. | |
" Indeed bro Armour is a big defence failure and Devs don't understand this. If i add the nonexistent Life points then it makes it more useless to invest in. Patch 0.3.0 is the last chance for balancing defences. If not people would not waste any more time to this game. They will quit permanently. |
