Betrayal Mastermind

The drop chance for her encounter is way too low.

I've done enough safehouses where I'd have fought her 4-5 times before the change. Her fragment has not dropped once.

Yeeah I have no idea why they made it a random drop instead of leaving it as a bar to fill up like the other safehouses are. Such a downgrade.

And she doesn't even have any extra safehouse rooms with rewards anymore lol its just the loot. And if you get unlucky you'll only get trashy uniques, bad veiled items and bad allflames that sell for 5c. This "rework" has only made farming betrayal more boring.

Huh?

I've just seen my friend farm it, and the way I did catarina 4 times was I just bought the medallion 4x times from Faustus when it was only 1 div each early in the league lmao

Its always smart to buy these kinds of things early before they get overpriced by crafters or whatever mysterious reason the veiled exalt goes up for.

So no actual evidence then. Gotcha. Thanks for sharing.

You don't need "evidence" for every little thing. This is a feedback forum. I'm sharing my opinion of the game and how it can be improved. Its called feedback.

Betrayal sucks even harder after this "rework" and its boooooriiiiinnnng to run now. Boring and unrewarding unless you hit the veiled exalt jackpop lottery. And not being able to reset the board sucks if you wanna set up an infinite strat like gravicius in transportation but you've messed up and made connections where you shouldn't. There needs to be a "reset board state" button added for starters.

No clue how they made betrayal even worse and more residentsleeper to run but there it is. There's a reason why I only ever did 1 Jun mission in a red map(probably randomly spawned one), because they're boring and take too long. And literally no reason to get veiled items now that we just have all recipes from maps anyway. Which I'm glad for, it means I'm not forced to spec betrayal on every early atlas tree.

But they forgot to make the mechanic actually fun and rewarding. Nobody likes grinding safehouses for whatever elusive droprate the medallion is, and then the trashy droprate of veiled exalts from catarina while praying you get a tink allflame. Medallion should be a guaranteed drop after you fill up a bar of intelligence % or something. Why they felt the need to make it an RNG drop I'll never understand. Boss invitations should always be farmed deterministically, the game should tell you "you need to do this X amount of times to get Y invitation". Searing Exarch and Eater of Worlds are perfect examples of this done right. We ain't in D2 anymore where you had to farm random boss drops that are RNG just to open a portal to some super special boss lmfao

And I don't need "evidence" nor do I need to prove anything to anyone, all feedback is valid. Literally seeing my friend farm the content and how sleep-inducing and unrewarding it is is already proof enough.
So, you’ve done one Jun mission in a red map and now you’re out here acting like you’ve unlocked the secrets of the entire system? That’s like watching a 5-minute YouTube tutorial and thinking you’re ready to lecture everyone on how to run a marathon.
You can’t judge an entire system based on a tiny sliver of the experience.
If you’re only skimming the surface and calling it “boring,” maybe the problem isn’t the content, it’s you.

And the “no evidence” claim? Are you serious? “My friend thinks it’s boring” is your proof?
That’s not evidence, that’s just your friend’s opinion, and it sounds like they were asleep while playing. Try actually engaging with the content before you drag it through the mud.
You can’t say a game mechanic is trash if you haven’t even played it. You’re not giving feedback, you’re just projecting frustration onto something you didn’t take the time to engage with.

Now, let me drop some actual experience on you, I've been farming the new Betrayal in SSF Standard since the rework, because honestly, I couldn’t be bothered to start fresh with the league under the heavy server issues.

But guess what? The new Betrayal is the best it's ever been in terms of rewards. Regular Safehouses feel amazing again. Setting up your board actually matters now, which is a huge upgrade.
Before, it was just a mad rush to Mastermind progression. Now, those smaller Safehouses are meaningful, and the whole system feels way more engaging.

On top of that, the Catarina fight is no longer a tedious slog, and the new loot is a lot more rewarding. Veiled Exalts are actually dropping on the ground with some frequency, unlike the old Veiled Chaos Orbs that barely ever showed up. And let’s be honest here, if you’re complaining that it’s unrewarding, it’s because you’re doing one mission and then calling it a day.

That’s not how any content works. If you’re not engaging with the mechanic properly, don’t blame the game for not giving you instant gratification.

But if you just drive by for your seasonal carries and don’t engage with any content, well, don’t be surprised when things feel "boring" and "unrewarding." That’s on you, not the game.

SSF is irrelevant to me, I'm never touching that mode. I play in SC Trade only, and there betrayal is boring. ALL the crafting safehouses with the timer where you slap random orbs on an item are total garbage, always have been. First of all those need to be deleted and replaced with real rewards.

And I don't need to do X amount of Jun missions to see just how much worse its gotten, I've done betrayal in the past. I know all there is to know about the mechanic, and I can see exactly what they've done to it: a downgrade. Syndicate Medallion being a random drop instead of a bar you fill up to a safehouse is complete BS. Most safehouse rewards are either underwhelming or just random scarabs in intervention or certain other safehouses for specific members. As if I can't get scarabs to rain down in my strongbox atlas strat anyways on 8-mod mesa maps. So again, useless. Especially because those scarab safehouses drop like a few of them of only 1 type, and barely ever have rarer ones.

And that's the end of it, all the other rewards aren't even worth mentioning because they're either gambling or hoping for a good allflame to drop so you hear a tink on the ground. Veiled items are totally worthless 1c items, not even worth my time to pick up and unveil any of them. Its objectively worse than it was before, like legit the only fun to be found in betrayal atm is setting up infinite gravicius in transportation and hoping he drops you a high-value div card set.

SSF or not, it really doesn’t matter here. I’ve actually played the league mechanic, and with good faith, I can tell you it’s been insanely rewarding since the rework. You, on the other hand, have done a whole one mission (and not even a single safehouse), 4 cata fights—probably carried through all of those, let’s be real, and now you’re out here lecturing us about how the mechanic is “unrewarding” and “unfun”? Hello?

You claim to know the mechanic inside and out, but it’s been massively reworked, something you’ve clearly not bothered to engage with at all. Yet somehow, you’re judging it based on a totally different system.
No, that’s not “feedback” or “constructive criticism,” that’s just you having no clue what you're talking about because you’ve barely dipped your toes in the new system.

So keep telling us how bad it is from your 4 cata fights and one mission perspective, or how bad any other league mechanic is. But maybe, just maybe, try actually engaging with the reworked system, or hell, the whole game rather than having others play it for you, only to go around pretending you've got it all figured out and it's all bad. Just an idea.

I literally did all 4 fights myself because I have 200 mil dps so she insta-phased lmao

I know exactly what I'm talking about, and I know everything about this mechanic. That's why I can say that its bad now. This is an objective fact.
