Diablo 4 pulling the same numbers as PoE 1
What's wrong if you enjoy both PoE1/2 and D3/4 at the same time lol

" What are you even saying, poe2 is 3 months into the league now. Still pulling a little more than 10k players on steam. If anything, they should focus on it even more if 10k people still playing that garbage league 3 months after. | |
I blame t17 mods (including when showing in originator maps). They very much make it feel like the game is designed for mageblood builds, and only high performing ones at that. Gotta love needing every single defensive layer in the game! Meaningful combat y'all!
They may look great if you stream 16 hours a day, but I'm so tired of having 100d build that constantly get one-shot. I was bummed about this when t17s came out, but originator maps feel like a doubling down instead of a fix. |

" Some people develop a weird parasocial attachment to a game and end up basing their whole personality off it. An internet phenomena really. You see it on these forums with the same people defending every decision GGG makes to the hilt. D4 is fine tbh - it's a casual less involved ARPG but that's not a bad thing. |

D4 is a game made by idiots for idiots.
Actually I take that back, it's not even a game anymore. |

I don't mind playing D4 from time to time. The itemization is very different and appealing in some way, which is good.

Its a bit wild that the op had to more than double the amount of players on diablo while assume 80% of poe players play on steam to still not have diablo pull the same number of poe. At the time im writing this poe sits at a playercount of 85k and diablo is at 20k, so now well have to assume the b.net count will a bit more than quadruple the player count of diablo to match the steam number of poe
As for poe2, it is very low atm, but to be fair, its been 4 months since the last significant content. Poe1 also historically drops to about 20k-ish after that timeframe. Well see what will be the numbers when the new league launch and if the schedule will stay 4 months, but for now, poe2 numbers dont seem THAT different from poe1 Assuming both poes will have expansions launched at the same 4 months intervals, the way the schedule is arranged, each poe will have a league launch 2 months after the other, so the peak of one will match the fall of the other. I guess thats the plan to support both games and not have one cannibalize the players of the other too much |

" it probably is in fairness. D4 launched on bnet, all the blizzard fans play through bnet, D3 is through Bnet, WoW, I know a fair amount of people who play D4 and they all play through Bnet. my bet would be about 80-90% of their base plays on bnet. as ppl have said its about 1/3 of poe players on the standalone. its still shocking numbers for blizzard, if a 13 year old poe thats been left in a dumpster for a year completely breaking its release cadence is even getting 1/4 of the players of D4, a 2 year old next gen game from the biggest arpg devs and franchise in history? come on, thats so embarrassing. the d4 devs didnt have a clue what they were doing going in and are struggling to learn what an arpg is on the job. its a game being developed by the player base now essentially, its just a collection of thoughts the players have been screaming at the devs over the last 2 years. im playing D4 right now, its fun for a bit. trying the new class, first time, feels really good to play much better than the other classes ive played. the campaign for this ves of hatred expansion tho, holy fuck, that was awful. i was losing my mind trying to get through it and actually listen to the dialogue etc. temu studio ghibil trash. an endless string of characters having emotional breakdowns and really deep and meaningful conversations about friendship, self help and empowerment. deep if you are a 12 year old raised raised on trash anime at any rate. ghibli earns those moments with great stories and character building, d4 earned nothing. vomit inducing YA garbage strung together with fetch quests, time waster run arounds and completely forgettable monster encounters. appalling a company with that much money is so shit at making a campaign. but you get to endgame and its alright, its fun, u kill some stuff and get some items. itll probably hold up for a week or 2 im having a good time. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

You guys should understand that the target audiences for D4 and PoE are different. D4 is designed to appeal to the mainstream masses and casual gamers, meanwhile PoE instead appeals to players that like "juicy" ARPGs with huge passive trees, many systems that interact with each other and actual difficulty in finding and making a viable build.
It's a bit like Minecraft and its GT:NH mod. Minecraft appeals to the mainstream, and then there's GT:NH which introduces a metric ton of new systems into the game and is essentially designed for the people that like hard and complex tech mods. |
