Yeah I'm done.

I tried. I really did. Almost 100 hours of trying different builds trying to find something that "clicked". After a year of no league I thought things would be different. I've been playing over the past week or so and it hit me...this isn't fun anymore. I've been pretty much on autopilot the past couple days. The game has been shifting towards a specific type of player/playstyle for a while now, and that clearly isn't me. After getting the first couple voidstones and realizing what I had ahead of me, I logged out for the last time.

I so desperately wanted this to be the proverbial renewal for my love of the game I gave so much time to, but the magic is gone. I don't see that ever changing with the current direction of the game.

No, you can't have my stuff. I've already uninstalled. I hope it was worth it, GGG. You had my loyalty, now you have my apathy.
General discussion gaming forums are almost always a cesspit of ignorance and trolls.

Not sure what you were expecting. It's the same game with the same problems it had when 3.2.5 launched in July 2024. As for the "specific playstyle" you mentioned, that would streamers. The overwhelming preferred audience for this currency simulator are streamers with zero impulse control, zero introspective ability ("do I even enjoy playing this anymore!?"), and grandmaster skills at swiping credit cards in the shop.

I'm sitting here pondering if I want to grind up the same melee builds I played in 3.2.5 (not lightning strike) to achieve the same level of content completion when this patch is a nerfed down version of a settlers reset. Should I gear up to get 1 shot by some random map merc doing more damage than uber uber elder while wearing amazing gear like a 40-60 damage axe with no offensive mods?

Ya I think I'm done too.

This is the bit that truly pisses me off.

I open the merc panel and see the weapon is garbage and his skills aren't all that hot.

So I say "I'll take those chaos, I guess"

Only to get smeared instantly.

I can typically face tank juiced T16 essence and expedition runic monster with little issue.

But a merc with a 3 mod weapon with less dmg on it than you typically see in a freshly finished campaign character can 1-shot me.

I wouldn't mind if there was some back and forth and I lost. If I took damage, healed it, fought hard but lost then that would still be fun.

But being 1-shot by garbage builds with garbage gear is infuriating.
Just play standard until the game is truly dead then delete everything.. this is what im be doing.. I have over 1600 remove all tabs ive just been whole sale deleting everything. Years of content and collected crap.

Literally just going to compile everything into a build that uses as many mirrors as possible then delete that too followed by the game.
Can I have your stuff?

If you like the game you should buy some supporter packs rather than ride the free to play model and trolling the forums.
My most hated game.
My most favorite game.
Such is the duality of man.

I'm not trying to gatekeep here, but...

is this a case of a change in the game's direction - or just a case of you learning more about the game, and discovering it may not have been what you expected / hoped for? We sometimes see this sentiment from people who have been playing for over a decade. Given that your account's just under two years old - and for one of those years, there's been essentially no updates - it's hard to imagine just how much the game could truly have changed in that timeframe.

Nobody's saying your feedback is any less valid or consequential than that of other community members. But choosing to specifically pass comment on how the game has changed over time - when you've not really been around to know how it used to be - comes across as strange.

Society has change a lot since the '70s. Given that I was born in the '90s, I typically leave attempts to articulate such to those with more first-hand experience than I. Just my $0.02.
I'm working on something for the PoE community! 👀
