I dont see the problem.

Having to travel to the portal node, then from the exit node to what you need... Sure. No problem at all. What you ask for you already have distilled emotions for.

destilled emotion give you only 1 notable as far as I know. We are talking here about reaching 4+ cluster on a side that is opposite to yours.

If you want a choas gemling that goes on ES you are out of luck as the whole south half doesnt have any and you start there. They are all north. We are talking here about nodes in worth of 30+ points of increase damage and defense not available to you unless you use 30+ points to travel there

What if they allow stemming from the notable instilled? Maybe that is better idea than "portals"... I mean... You instill some notable and you can allocate X points around it based on something else...
HC SSF. What else? Ruthless when?

+1. Fly over paths. And then all players gonna choose ES.

Pathetic but inevitable!
Good idea
Or a specific jewel that will open portal to a place in p.tree and continue from there the path. But need more jewel sockets then.
Bump... More diversity need more paths...
+1. Fly over paths with no extra punishments.
+1. And if you bring it to people don't forget to accompained it with Extra punishment as always.
+1. Maybe 4 big portals in a cross in Passive tree will boost significant the paths.
Not sure this would promote diversity or homogenize the meta.

More paths doesnt always mean more options if 1-2 options stand head and shoulders above the rest.

Stuff like mace nodes are meant to be easier to reach as a warrior, same with monk and quarterstaff or any other archetype. If any class can teleport to another section of the tree it removes some of what makes the archetypes diverse/distinct.

I'd rather more unique jewels that allow builds to select unconnected nodes.

"Portal in the passive tree" sounds like a good AI prompt to make a country music song about spending all your beer money on respects and ending up broke.
