[FIX GUIDE] Solve Shader-Related FPS Drops & Lag Spikes in Path of Exile 2 (PC)

For what it’s worth, and if anyone reads this comment in preparation for the Druids league, I’ll share what I did today that finally worked after looking at so many guides and fix posts.

I play the game on steam so the shadercache folder is located at
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\shadercache...

Now delete the "2694490" folder as it's the one for PoE 2. Then simply start the game.

Note that before I deleted mine, the folder’s date was 4/25/2025, way back from the Huntress league. I’ve reinstalled the game so many times trying to fix this issue but somehow, and I assume some of the from back then remains and still being read during transitions which caused the slow loading time.

Finally I could play the upcoming league and try Druid. This issue sucked my motivation of playing during Abyss.

Ryzen 5 5600x
RX 6700 XT
16GB RAM
Game's installed at Gen 4 NVME.
Thanks you, Sir!

The issue really got fixed about that. it seems like Steam Shaders Folder effecting the game after any update.

I found out that it is steam related issue for me since my friends playing it through the standalone launcher without any issues.

Wow!!!! Did you just come up with these tips?!?!? Thank you SO MUCH for doing hours, days, maybe weeks of your own research to find these hidden gems. We have most certainly not seen the same set of suggestions posted two or three times a week to this very forum since PoE2 was made available.

Amazing, simply, amazing.
solve?

no
My chart shows only crazy network spikes ~50 to 2k+

What is wrong with this game? How to fix it? Its only PoE2, every other game works fine.

My specs:
9700x / 9060xt 16gb / 32gb ddr5 / m2 ssd

Fiber 1gb connection, ethernet (30>ms)
I use FSR in PoE2 to fix lag and stuttering from CPU bottlenecks and High shader bar.

It is 2025 game and relies heavily on CPU. Still it is on EA phase but i can assure anyone who is reading this get a powerful CPU with some good cooling. Don't be afraid when you enter a new map because game loads shaders first. I used to have AM4 3700X upgraded into 98003xd and everything is flat out high FPS. In short if you see FPS drops your rig is old&outdated. Upgrade it.

How much were you paid by GGG to say it's not the game but it is players' PC?
It is clearly the game, no other game does this and have those stutters/lag spikes/freezes...
I've done all that stuff and still get crashesin multiplayer and vaal temple when new spells and abilities go off.

Please remove [FIX GUIDE] from the title of this thread.
