There should be a mid-league adjustment for Doryani's as it provides an almost unprecedented pressure for players to interact with the game in a certain way, and for little relative cost to upside at that.

The downside -should- be juggling survivability, yet recent patches/fixes have made player mercenaries significantly more survivable with little/no investment. At present, I feel I am making a very suboptimal choice playing anything but a character that utilized the interactions of a Doryani's on a mercenary.

The only thing I can think of in this realm of inequity is the old Purposeful Harbinger. It was nerfed mid-league, even after GGG said they would delay adjustments.

Consequently, there is precedent for making the change.

Personally, I believe any interaction with nearby allies/enemies - or even auras - from mercenaries is probably too potent for the investment needed. Let's not forget until a few weeks ago, Animate Guardian - which at least takes a gem slot - lost its items on death. Despite that last bit being changed, AGs still take more investment for benefit than mercenaries.

Potential ways this could be handled:

1. Mercenaries employing a "nearby enemies" or "nearby allies" effect forfeit any artificial survivability buffs to themselves (such as, but not limited to, the recent -80% DoT change).
2. Effects from mercenaries specifying "nearby enemies" or "nearby allies" have a substantially curtailed radius.
3. Auras stemming from mercenaries affect the players at half the value; after all, mercenaries only scale the area by half a person.

As has been mentioned above, one could arrange some of these interactions with party play, yet party play means there are other players to both take the risks and divide the spoils. A mercenary - despite the name - works for free after the initial trivial payment.

We are still in the opening stage of the league. It is my hope this issue is addressed before it forces things to become stale and people to leave.

Cool nothing about the gem bug on console mentioned.

Could you get on that maybe? Alex GGG is the only one who even pretends to log in on console, and while he does pretend well, I feel bad that he alone has to sit with the dusty consoles and tiny, lightly gnawed bones to throw us occasionally.
There are only two solutions for Doryanis.
-Limited minimum mercenary resistances.
-Prohibition of wearing this unique.

Everything else will hit ALL builds and will be ineffective, since damage solves survivability problems in this game.

I was enjoying the league, but suddenly, Infamous no longer appears. Infamous loot no longer appears either. Was this the improvement in the league? I'm thinking about quitting. It was good, but it's worse now.

Well written and 100% agree. Too bad they seem to be against in league nerfs, even ones that are as ridiculous as this one.

Any chance amount of freezes will be lowered instead of doubled with every subsequent "fix"?
4070, 64GB RAM, i7 13th gen, lowest possible settings. Almost never above 60 fps, went from "freeze?! wtf is happening?!" during Settlers and events to "1 freeze per 10 maps" at league start to "you will get 1 freeze or less per map if you are lucky, otherwise 2+" now.
It is a "complete coincidence" that each jump happened after patches that "fixed" something, right?
3 weeks in league nothing get fixed still every map freez crahses etc nothing gets buffed like merc drops etc stop working on dead ass poe 2 and fix poe 1
That hotfix just F it up. The whole game now laggy no matter where you are and even the loading screen
